I used Krylon BBQ paint for all the emblems on my FJ Cruiser, once removed I lightly roughed them up with steel wool, primered with a quality plastic spray, then 2 coats of the Krylon. Once dry I reattached to the vehicle using a thin line of clear silicone, I marked the position of course, pressed the emblems firmly pushing out the excess silicone, then taped over them with masking tape, once dry I used a toothpick around the edges to cut away the excess silicone...it worked perfectly, this paint is tough as nails, didn't chip or fade over 4 years.

When you Ty to remove the back make sure the credit card is below both the emblem and the plastic backer. You need that plastic backer to help torque the chrome off the car.

    Hope that helps!

i got a little a.d.d today and decided to take a little more plasti dip to the car. blacked out the middle front bumper and top of the hood. Top needs to be redone because of some shininess and bottom is not exactly even but hey, its a learn as you go product!

next will be the two top panels between the solar and window

let me know what you think!

Be careful with the PlastiDip - some people have taken it a bit too far!

well i finally got around to competing the look i wanted for the front. it needs some touch up but overall, not bad. did i go overboard, maybe a little but it changed the look completely!

All in all i painted - around the fog lights, under the toyota logo (make it look like it was floating), two roof panels, half moon on the hood, front spoiler, and all emblems. total cost was $11 for two cans.

Let me know what you guys thing! The last picture was my inspiration

tecmo, looks good. Honestly I don't like it on the hood or roof, but I really like it around the fog lights. Looks great.

tzh, I think that looks good.

Wouldn't that stuff affect the coefficient of drag of the vehicle? Not as slippery as a waxed surface.

Too much for me personally, but I do like the emblems dipped/painted.

...or a fix your bumper ticket after someone rear ends you. Blacking out your tail lights is downright irresponsible.
