If you've lowered your Prius, then this thread is for you... I am looking at lowering my Prius and I need your input. I've done this once before, in the past with my Camry, accomplished that using Tein S-Tech Solara springs (over stock struts), and this lowered it all around by 2 inches.

I was looking at buying Tein S-Tech's, but doing nothing with struts (just running the stock struts) as it'll only bring things down about 1.5 inches. Today the car has 36,000 miles on it.

Looking for feedback in the way of a solution that accomplishes what I am after, and is sub-$500. Thoughts?

And I love the way it came out. Took out about and inch or so of the gap.

I have the h-techs on my prius, you can find pretty decent prices for them and they aren't too stiff either

    Stock springs, or struts?

Love all the feedback on this!

Doing the install on the Camry sucked. I have a feeling the Prius will be a little easier.

Little off topic. OP does your camry squeek with those solara springs. I have a camry also and bought those springs. I've heard that over time they squeek due to the extra weight of the camry and because of that I haven't installed them. I don't want the wife bitching.

    EVO!

Eh... Not so much, no. An occasional creak from the rears that only i'd pick up on. Loved the stance, but ride suffered a bit, it got a little harsh when the road turned to crap.

    Handled like a mother though.

I dig the look of the new wheels, in black. Hell, I'd even up my 17's for a set.

I appreciate the feedback folks, thank you. Pulled the trigger on a set of Tein today. Best price I could find was $167 with delivery.

I lowered my Prius over the weekend in my garage. Took about 5 hours. I originally purchased the TRD lowering springs but changed my mind after reading that the drop was an inch all around. I installed Tanabe DF210's. Along with that I also installed a Tanabe front tower brace and a TRD rear sway bar. The car sits just about perfect. It handles waaaaaaay better. It also looks better sitting on the 17 in Motegi SP10's. Anyway, I have brand new in the box TRD lowering springs if anyone is interested. It's a pretty straight forward application. Good luck......
