Non-Prius owners see me as a flat out weirdo. But it has nothing to do with my car. They saw me that way when I drove a Civic, as they did when I drove a Jeep.

I must admit i didnt opt for the prius for gas savings. And i must sheepishly admit the low emissions and superb gas milage does make me feel a little ahead of the rest B)

 

My ex-wife called me a tree-hugging radical environmentalist when she heard I was getting a Prius. And she's a democrat. I hate to think what most of the right-wing majority in this state think, but I'm getting a vibe somewhere between disdain and hatred. Although, that might have more to do with the ACLU bumper sticker than the car.

All I know for sure is that people drive like they're trying to kill me.

The Prius was the answer to long-term reduction of my auto fuel expenses. Went from 15 mpg to 50+ and cut my fuel bill by two-thirds in the process. I think most of my co-workers see and understand my motive but some of the unfamiliar people I pass on the road look at me with contempt. It's flat-out weird.
