Delivery from Japan?

I'm in the same boat. I ordered a moonglow C IV on may 5th with black interior, sunroof and 16" alloys. I got quoted one month Which I was really excited about. Two weeks in I called for an update because I didn't hear from the dealer since I left and was given a 3-4 week more wait and that the car is coming! Be patient! Then the Tuesday after memorial day i got an "at least one month more" wait.

My sales person was terrible and couldn't tell me why it was taking so long so I contacted the GM and was told that it's because of the moonglow color I wanted. Hopefully you get you're soon because this waiting is terrible! There's a couple threads posted a couple days back that has a lot of people's ordering and receiving info.

 

You need to call and ask for the fleet manager. They should be able to look up on their inventory sheet to see where your car is in the delivery process. Mine was able to tell me what ship it was on and when it would get stateside, etc. Mine left Japan on April 25 and landed in Portland on May 6. It got to my dealership by train/auto transport on May 20

 

Do you have a build date yet? It won't get a VIN until it gets stateside but your fleet manager should be able to tell you when it will ship from Japan and what ship it is on.

 

Wow- I just got a call from my salesman with my VIN#! He sais it is due in NY port on the 26th- they are hoping to have it for delivery to me by the 30th! I think the dealership must have really pushed to get it- they want to make the sale this month yet. I can't wait to see it!

ive been told my white premium tech package, will arrive mid to late summer... hoping for mid summer

 

I ordered mine on April 20th, and it is due to arrive around June 29th (so about 10 weeks from when I ordered it). The reason mine is taking so long is because I was not flexible at all with what I ordered. I only wanted a specific color, specific color interior on my C4, with a sunroof, etc. They had a silver 4 come in about a week or two after I ordered mine, but chose to wait so I could have Summer Rain!

 

Purple your dealer should have a window of delivery by now. And be able to tell you exactly where it is.

 

I had gone to the dealership on Monday and test drove a silver prius c three while going through the Costco Auto program. I had been looking at this car for months and without a doubt fell in love with it during the test drive. The good part was going though Costco had gotten me a really good deal I thought, $250.00 over invoice and all options such as as sunroof and alloy wheels were invoice priced. The bad part. Apparently Summer Rain Metallic isn't so popular in this area or in all of New Jersey for that matter. When I had asked for it, the salesman asked me if it was even a real color, then he proceeded to ask me if I was sure, and I had to show him a pic from my phone to prove it. The other salesperson he was speaking too hadn't heard of it either. It is a reputable dealership that my co-workers had gone through, but I wasn't aware that they don't order cars directly from the manufacturer. He said they get shipments come in every two weeks and some dealerships already had dibs, and they can trade amongst themselves. Anywho, he tells me it could be here Wednesday, two weeks from that, or two weeks from there and so on. This is my first new car, all my previous cars had been preowned so I figured if I'm paying all this money for a new car, I may as well get what I want. Unfortunately my current 12 yr old car is pretty dead and I really dont want to wait. My fiancé is telling me to suck it up and get the silver one, but I don't want to budge. LOL my sister insists she doesn't mind giving me rides and letting me use her car........We will see how she feels a two or three months from now.

 

So, did you get it??? If so, I'm dying to hear how beautiful it is. My dealer just got an absolutely red that they are holding onto in order to trade for my summer rain, but I'm not sure if they will be able to find one in the area.

 

I ordered my Prius C 2 from a dealer in Portland, who ordered it online. There is no inventory here, as the cars on the lot are already sold. My Prius came in from the factory in Japan in two weeks. I am lucky because Portland is a port, or else it would have to have been shipped. It's worth the wait.

 

I spoke to the dealer a couple weeks ago and they had gotten a C3 absolutely red come in that met my specs. They were going to hold onto it for a trade, but no one in the area has any Summer Rain Metallics. I called last Friday for the update and was told to call this Friday and they will be able to tell me more with the updated allotment. I had asked if it would be better if I just pick a secondary color, but he told me it's not so much a color issue anymore, it's the Prius C in general thats an issue, people are just gobbling them up. Hopefully not too much longer to go. Good luck guys!
