There are LOTS of sites with shorter leashes than PC.

Just can't speak for Danny and the staff, but if they want to lead the discussion to cars more, can't blame them.

My experience as a member and moderator of various forums is keep the majority of the discussions to the site's theme and stick to it. The sites that become trouble is the ones that are different than described in the URL.

If an offtopic at PC is that compelling to me, I join a site where it's the main theme.

 

BTW, I searched YouTube for "Hitler is informed Fred's House of Politics has been removed from PriusChat", but could not find anything.

That doesn't make walking around sense to me.
Somehow Danny is making money with this forum. Maybe not MAKING money, but there is a revenue stream being generated from this site that's probably at least covering a lot of the operating costs.
The numbers don't really matter to me personally, and FWIW I hope that this site is generating zillions, since I'm not a success hater.

OK....maybe not NRA and Glock, but I do get the occasional Camaro ad...which is interesting since I've never driven one or considered buying one.

Why would somebody with a pulse and a three digit IQ kill off part of that revenue stream?
It's not like that part of PC is being overrun with right-wing zealots that are giving PC a bad name, and mostly there are Prius drivers that hang there.

Get a hold of a mod.
They're over worked and under paid. You might have to pop a flare over their account a few times to stand out through all of the complaints about this poster and that bad comment, but I'd be very interested (and surprised!) to hear that FHOP_P is now closed to new members.
Like I said.....doesn't make sense to me.....but hey.

+1 If you started the thread without all the flamebait, you might sound really articulate and have a better chance of getting somewhere.

 

FHoPol should be treated like any other forum, membership, suspending likes/thanks, not counting posts or any other obsessive need to control (i.e. Bloomberg, New York, soda pop) what people say, hear or do is BS. Treat people as you would like to be treated. That said it's your site do what you want, you've done pretty Good so far, don't mess with success.

Too many times in our modern society humorless control freaks are chipping away at a person's GOD given, Constitutionally protected RIGHT to operate a business (or non-profit, or quasi-profit…whatever…) the way that the owner wants to do so. Granted, government has a proper role in thwarting Darwinism, but we’re talking about a forum here, folks.
If you stretch PC’s role in society to assume that of being part of a “free press”, which I personally think isn’t really much of a stretch, then Tony rightfully enjoys additional protections than those afforded to Suzi and her lemonade stand.
If he wants to run his shop as principally a clearing house for Prius only topics, or limit kudos for those who ply their opinions in the "prettier" portions of these hallowed halls, then I'll stand for his right to do so.
I've said this before.

Don't like it?
Don't post.

Frankly, I think that coercing somebody to run their forum in a manner that's different from the way that they themselves want to do so is a lot closer to Mayor Bloomberg's idea of "free enterprise."
In my never-to-be-humbled opinion....both stand in rather sharp contrast to a free and open market---or in this case an open and honest exchange of differing opinions.

As always.....YMMV.

PS I think the Nazi quote was simply a reference to the absolute control that Danny has over the site,, as is his right. He who pays the piper calls the tune,, even though certain people take offense about "censorship". Those same folks (and they know who they are" might consider a bit of self censorship now and again in the spirit of being civil. Free speech is not about "speaking" per we, it is about he free exchange of ideas, and if ones intent is to drown out countervailing voices with what is in essence yelling, it is not "free speech" at all, it is merely yelling!
