    Hey Izham,

How's the Garmin GPS unit working? Good?

Quite envious the C models got working GPS Units. The V model that I got, doesn't have Garmin installed on it. Even though it has the Map/Nav button. When you press the button, it just states that 'system is not installed.'

    Bah-Humbug.

Still waiting for the Garmin SD Card from Toyota. Gonna receive it next week. But I can still see the welcome screen though

I'll update here once I got the SD card and test it out in the real world. But my experience with Garmin GPS has always been good :) so I'll be expecting the same from this unit too.

    Sounds good.

Should check up with Toyota about the update for the V.

Cheers buddy, thanks for the info.

A quick update, 361km trip to Mersing Johor. averaged 22KM/L speed varies (110kmh auto cruise highway and anywhere from 60 - 120 in state roads) fill up RM30 back to full tank (15.78L) the FC displays is rather accurate. (hand calculated is 22.8KM/L). Thats an average of 51.7mpg, I'd say 50% highway and 50% normal roads. Pretty accurate to what Toyota claim :)

Please some pix of the Garmn screen when you get it. Eager to see differences in Garmin vs. Toyota.

The DVD-AVN works fine on my end (signal and all - however I am in E.Malaysia so I'm not sure how it will fair on your end, it should be fine). One user had a faulty unit so he had to get his exchanged but I haven't heard any problems from anyone else besides that. By default they've given a 2010 outdated version of the maps (Malsingmaps Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei NT 2010.42). I've been updating my maps regularly (I can use either malsingmaps and malfreemaps no problem). Don't bother paying to update it as you can update it easily yourself. How come they did not give you the sdcard when you got your car? You should get it the day you receive the car, mine and many others all have. Let me know if you need assistance on updating the map on your sdcard.

They didn't get the SDCard on the delivery day. It seems the PC is selling like hot cakes now. My friend is still waiting for his PC. Yeah, I update my garmin via malsingmaps as well, much more detailed maps there.

Oh that's a pity. I agree too, it's been selling like hotcakes since the launch. I ordered mine on the 5th of March and only got it like 85 days later. Alot of other people who also ordered during that time (some before, some after) still have not received theirs (not sure why that is, some people seem to be getting theirs fast - probably some are jumping queues or due to color availability) but geographically speaking, I think there is a really high demand on the west end of the country since everyone is grabbing them up and the waiting lists just keep getting longer. When did your friend order and what color?

Btw, malsingmaps seems to load faster for me compared to malfreemaps, although you can configure malfreemaps to show less stuff and get rid of some poi stuff to make it refresh/load faster (you probably know all this stuff already).

apparently UMW Toyota can't deliver that many where Honda hybrids were sold about 10K units this YTD while Prius/Prius c were only sold for less than 7K units... no wonder they're not considering to CKD Prius/Prius c but chosen to have Camry hybrid instead for ease of manufacturing transition.
Damn, hope Thai CKD version can be imported with incentive next year if they stop the CBU exemption on the heavy duties to protect the local car maker... Prius with solar roof!!!

Ditto, my old $100 dashtop Garmin was 10x faster and easier to program addresses in than the Toyota one. Fortunately I don't have to punch too many addresses in, and the display while driving is similarly adequate.
