I haven't seen a good picture or discussion of the driver's door armrest. Is it comfortable for one's elbow, or is it hard plastic and therefore NOT comfortable?

It has a bit of give to it, slightly padded where your elbow rests, and hard plastic around that.

I found it to be comfortable.

Aye, I think it's comfy enuff too. Although I like to raise the seat up to max and rest my arm on the window sill instead and I like how wide the window sill is, it's very nice.

I think it's fine. Sized and placed properly. comfy.

Now if you want to feel an uncomfortable one, go try the Mitcubishi i.

Yeah, I agree with the others, it seems fine. I actually don't really have an opinion, I just wanted to see my Fuelly signature I just added. :)

I can't use it with the seat all the way down and back. But, when I do it isn't uncomfortable.

I do use it and find it comfortable. You can also slide the armrest forward for a better "platform", if desired.

No, they're talking about the center armrest.

It's comfortable to me, only complain is the plastic panel is being pushed out by the power window mechanism when the window is pushed and shut.

Like everyone else I find the left armrest to be comfortable enough also. My only concern is the color of the fabric. I know it's to match the rest of the door, but over time it's going to become dingy due to the oil, skin and dirt from your arm. I haven't inspected it to see if there's a way to take it off for cleaning, but I doubt it. I'm not sure what else would look good there, but comfort wise it's fine.

I don't know about the others, but it is the hardest, cheap, material covered uncomfortable armrest I've ever had in any car I've ever had. My arms are long and theres no padding that I can feel on the door. It hurts my elbow so much I put a rolled up towel there. I also plan on making a pad and covering it with the faux leather I used on the center armrest. One of the terrible comfort designs of the interior of my car, imo.

I thought your spongey arms would have no problem with that :p

All joking aside, although they weren't the most comfortable things to rest my arms upon, but they weren't on the other side of the extreme either. I found them bearable even in long rides, but hey I welcome any little padding comforts. I think it may be a bit problematic for people with bonier elbows since it might feel harder and uncomfortable to them against the hard plastic.
I'm not the tallest person so my chair isn't pushed back all the way enough for me to use the accessory box in the middle to rest my arm on, so I look kind of silly resting my arm on the gear as if I'm going to be shifting like on a manual heh. I don't think that pullout armrest in the middle works that well despite what height anyone is, do not know. Wish it came out a little further.
