windshield eyebrow tint

    Has anyond had it done on their v? I always have gotten them on my cars to add any extra interior heat reduction possible. On the v there is that big dot matrix pattern on the windshield and I wondered if it would lok weird as it would extend past the tint. Also, I thought it might not adhere well to the dot matrix area. Thoughts?

    When I purchased my "v" it already had the tint on it, including the windshield strip. It looked ridiculous. In fact when you looked closely, it was not adhearing well to the dots.

    I had it removed before delivery....very happy with that decision.

    I took mine to an installer and when they programmed the machine to cut the film, they told me that it came out as a 2 pieces leaving the dotted portion untouched.

    Wow, didn't know computer cut tint was an option. I don't think the shop I get my cars done at has that, but they always do a fantastic job. I think I will just skip the brow this time, I think split would look weird too. I'm going to get the back and side cargo windows dark and the rest of the 6 side windows all legal lighter tint.

    The cutting machine looks like a plotter with just a small panel where they input the car information and in a few seconds the whole process was done!
    It is very difficult to get a good pictures, but hope you get the idea:

    Make sure the rear windows is ONE piece.

    I had this eyebrow added to our 2010 Honda FIT Spornt/NAV ... It really helped!

    I expected I'd do the same with the Prius v, but to my surprise, after 3K miles there's been no need to do it. Looks better without the eyebrow IMHO.

    So I went to the tint shop and found they have a legal full windshield tint now called Llumar air blue that is nearly clear but still cuts out a lot of heat. I might try that instead. If they left off the dot matrix area it would be much less noticeable. Anyone had this done on their V yet?

    Thoughts I'd follow-up on an earlier comment - the eyebrow tint (which I said I didn't like) seems to be attractive on the black paint car (and maybe the darker colors too) - but on the white (and likely lighter colors - it isn't good).
