Is there a way to automatically connect to the internet and suppress the safety warnings when I connect my phone (using an iPhone in case that matters)? I understand Toyota needing to default to putting the disclaimer there about potential costs/safety issues but I will always want to connect to the internet or use my navigation system despite those messages so I want to turn them off. I would appreciate any info on doing this.

I tried searching for this but didn't find anything so I apologize if I missed some threads.

    Hmm, not enough info.

I have the 7" nav and use an Android phone and connect via bluetooth. I get a warning when I start the car and that automatically clears itself after a few seconds.

I dont see any other warnings.

You can't turn off the first confirmation message about connecting to the internet, but there are checkboxes hidden deep in the menu system to turn off the subsequent cost and roaming warning messages.

On my Prius C the path is: Setup -> Bluetooth -> Paired device list -> iPhone 4. On this screen is then a line "Connect to Internet" which has a gear symbol at its right-hand end. If you touch this symbol you get a screen with checkboxes for Show cost warning and Show roaming warning.

You couldn't make this stuff up.

I have the 6" version and there are several pop-ups that you have to hit "Continue" or "Cancel" on but I think the 7" uses satellite signal for the updates so that could explain why your experience is different.

Well, I found those options and unchecked those boxes but I am continuing to get those messages when I connect to the internet. I figured that the setting must have reset or something but when I go back into the menu, it shows that they are unchecked.

I think the first couple of times after I unchecked the boxes the messages still appeared when I connected the phone, but not after that. Try rebooting your phone.

I had already tried restarting my phone but you made me hopeful that the messages will just go away soon. Thanks for your reply.

I got the messages this morning when I started my car but when I went to lunch this afternoon, I did not. It seems to have worked (though I am not sure why it took a while for the settings to "stick"). Thanks for your help

    Thanks for the update!

The only other thing I ran into is that installing the new version of Entunes reset them to the default of "on", and I had to turn them both off again.

I realize I'm opening an old thread, but I'm hoping this fixes my issue as well. I'll be driving along and the message will just pop up out of nowhere about the internet connection, just like it did when I first started the car.
