First, thanks to those who answered my pre-purchase questions.

On Saturday, we picked up a new Prius IV with sun roof. We went on a road trip to Paso Robles in the last couple of days (a lot of freeway, but a lot of hills too, as we drove around three separate winery areas on the trip and over one small mountain pass). At 8 miles on the ODO, the dealer filled the tank before we took possession. I pulled into the gas station back home with 417 total miles and exactly 50.0 showing as the MPG. I filled to the second click and the mileage calculated to be 50.06 MPG. Not to bad for a brand new car and novice Prius drivers. :)

No complaints at all about the performance of the car. Could not get any valuable use out of BING (or other Entune apps) however. The voice recognition (or lack there off) at one point had us laughing. Need to study the apps a bit for hints on how to best use them.

Wish the person riding shot gun could add locations on the navigation system while on the move, but besides that, the NAVI worked nicely.

All and all, a great car.

Never trust the first tank of fuel when comparing indicated vs. Hand calculated mpgees. :)

There are devices that allow you to bypass the speed lock on the apps. You might want to check them out.

Congrats to you and lordkifar on the new rides.

F8L is right in never trusting the "free" fill-up from the dealership. In my case it seems that it was close to being spot-on. Others have not been so lucky. That said, going to do my usual plug for joining in on Fuelly to share your experiences in getting the best mpg's from your Prii. :)

And as F8L mentioned there are ways to bypass the limitations on eTune use that Toyota's lawyers built-in to the system. One of the reasons that eTunes was not a selling point for me, and being happy with my iPhone with MotionX as my GPS. Also I am cheap when it comes to options for the cars I buy. :D Now if I could have gotten a reasonably priced sunroof on my 2012 Prius 2, that I would have gone for . LOL

I have had my Prius Four for about three months now L O V E it.

Personally, I do not mind the speed lock, understand the passenger point, but feel better that drivers can't do the equivalent of texting. BTW, if you have addresses saved, like home, you CAN select them while in motion.

Love the solar powered ventilation. Bing is weak, but I love Panora through Entunes.

Lots of luck, enjoy he video game that Prius mileage is!
