Exhaust Gas Control Actuator Recall

My part is still being ordered from the recall. It's been more than 2 months since I called in for it. The dealership at Longo Toyota says that the parts are being backordered. Is this true?

 

I had the recall performed on my car on Saturday in Northern California. Called about 3-4 days in advance to set up the appointment. No one said anything about the parts being back-ordered and the parts were there on Saturday morning. Install + 10k servicing took almost six hours.

 

Sounds like your dealer is not being honest with you. When I made my appointment on a Thursday, my dealer warned me that the parts were not in inventory and had to be ordered. They received the parts the next Monday and installed them on Tuesday.

 

Here is what my dealer said when I asked him how long willl it take and etc.

We have done 3 or 4 of them. I do need to order the parts. It must be done by an MDT(master diag technician with prius certification, I have 4 of them) and it takes 2-3 hrs.


I asked him to order the parts and I will make an appointment for the recall and to program my extra SKS which he told me there will be no charges for the remote programming.

 

I took mine in today and it took less than 3 hours. I asked the service manager if I could take a few pictures of the part in question:







It is about a foot long!

 

Had mine done at my 8K service. Took less than 2 hours.

 

Same here.

I also noticed some noise in the rear immediately following the repair but it's since gone as I imagine whatever was removed & re-installed in the process has settled.

No change in efficiency at this point.
