Until I read your post I had no idea the Tonneau could be stored anywhere but its specified place across the cargo area, or on the floor in the case of tall cargo. After your post I found it in the manual. Thank you!!

Yeah, same here. I had been keeping it in ECO mode for a couple of days after I bought it and feeling like I had indeed bought a golf cart, and what happened to the power I had experienced on the test drives? I need to move when I'm on the road, you know? Fortunately, I finally figured out how to use the different modes, and most importantly, that it didn't have to be in a specific mode.

I find that my 2007 Prius doesn't turn off all the time. Sometimes it is on and when I come back after an hour it is still running. It will not lock when it is running or it beeps until I turn it on and off again. Now it is dead because it must have been on all night. Should I just charge up the starter battery and charge it up by driving it around. Why isn't it turning off. I follow the same routine. Press the P button and press the off button. Is this common?

I would take the car to the dealership to have this checked out. It sounds like you are following the right procedure. Do the mfd and other display gauges go off after you press the power button? You should also be able to just press the power button and it will automatically move to park.

Really wish the dealer showed me or at least told me about the hill start assist function. That is so handy! I live in an area with a nice amount of hills and was wondering how to make the car not slide back if I stop on an incline. It took this forum and YouTube to show me I had it and how to use it!! I looked up the spec on this forum and it said I had Hill Start Assist. Then looked it up on YouTube how to use it.

Have my 2010 Prius T3 (UK model) for 3 days now and I love it! Will be doing the first longer drive with it tomorrow and taking it to France, Belgium and Netherlands for 3 weeks next Saturday. Can't wait!!

    Great forum!

I'll be buying my first V next week, and all this is very useful to know before I get into the dealership… Thanks a lot!

I really wish that I'd known that the rear seat headrests fold forward. Just found out about this. I rarely have back seat passengers, and tipping the headrests forward makes all the difference in rear visibility.

First post. Second week with my new Prius. My dealer had a dedicated delivery team. The person spent about 45 mins to an hour going over everything and programming our phones to the car. I asked about the rear head rests folding down. They did not seem to know but I found instructions quickly in the manual and showed them how to do it. I am still learning things about the car by exploring, reading the manual and of course these forums.

My sales dude did a good job. Couple of items for me are the speakers, as tons are written about these and the low beams need slight adjustment up. Love the car.

I like this one about where the 12V battery is and how it is accessed as well as jump points. My jumper cables are 20 years old when I bought my first car. I think someone recommended jumper cables with surge protector on this chat but could not find. Does anyone have recommendations?

We are looking forward to buy Prius in next few weeks. However we have few questions. Hopefully answered by knowledgeable Prius community.

    1. We live in hot Florida and I drive almost all day ( 45 minutes of stop followed by 15 minutes of drive.)

We want to make sure that ac is good enough for Florida weather. Is Prius gen 3 any better than gen 3?

Last week I rented a 2012 gen 3 in Newport Beach, CA, from Enterprise Car Rental to see if we liked it or not. I drove it to inland Orange County where it was 102 degrees that day. On the recirculating setting with temp set at 60 and the fan set at the middle of the bars within 5-10 minutes it was freezing in the car. It was pretty humid, too. I would rate the A/C at the top of any car I've ever driven. The next day we bought one.

Well, I guess my dealership experience has sucked compared to some. Got no help with anything, really. Supposed to go back in a couple days for "training". Had to read online how to set up my iPhone with the bluetooth and now I'm trying to figure out this Entune dealio. Still need to read about what those EV/Eco/Pwer buttons are? The car thinks it's 2011. And the clock is set to 8pm and it's 11:30am, LOL. Guess I have some stuff to figure out. Does anyone know what station Howard Stern is on? :)

Where is it supposed to be stored? I could not find it in my Prius C manual. Hopefully we also have a spot to store it!
