Well thought I would share some from my first long trip in my "new" to me 2007 Prius. I purchased it in May of this year (2012) The car had 114,000 miles when I became the proud new owner and owner #2. I took the car on my "road trip from Seattle to San Diego the end of June. Drove the car the speed limit (55-70) and did not run the A/C unless th eoutside temp was over 90 degrees.

On the trip down I got 48.2 mpg and on my return 47.5. Overall the car had no issues at all, was smooth and really a pleasure to drive. I had to fill up 3 times during the trip down and 3 times on my return and also then drove approximately another 500 miles while I was in San Diego. This is quite the contrast to my last trips to SoCal when I drove my 1998 4Runner. Now don't get me wrong, I love my 4Runner with all its lilttle creature comforts I have installed over the years but when the best I can get is 24 mpg, it speaks volumes to the expenses I have had to outlay for the same trip in years past so when I can cut my fuel cost by better then 1/2, well what can you say.

So now 6,000 miles later I'm still living the dream!

I'm in the same car, same mileage, same MPG, same type of road trips... Got car in late January... The highways on the west coast of the US are awesome for this car, especially when it comes to slipstreaming 18-wheelers that drive nearly 70mph! :)
