Last Sunday I drove to a small shopping mall in Valencia and plugged in at a Chargepoint station. I then went shopping at the Kohl's and had lunch at Panera Bakery. I was expecting for the car to be fully charged when I came back; however, when I came back the charge cable was plugged into a Nissan Leaf instead. When I started the car it was obvious that my car was only charged for a few minutes. The Leaf itself was indicating that it was over 85 % charged. The owner did not leave a note saying that he needed a full charge.

The adult in me would just chalk it up to a douche bag Leaf owner. The child in me would unplug him and neatly coil up the cable and put it back on the charging station.

All joking aside  , someone mentioned here before that if the Leaf's "charging light" is on (?) it means it is full. But on the PiP, the little plug icon light is only on when it is charging. So it may have simply been a misunderstanding on the Leaf owner's part. He/she may have thought you were already full and then unplugged you.

I was going to agree with Tracksyde. I had that happen before. The Leaf owner was coming out of the bank same time I was and I stopped him and asked "hey why..." and she said the same things Track did. "I thought you were done... your gold light was on".

I thought about making a small business-card sized magnetized sign that said: I am not done charging if the gold light's on!!"

Instead of looking at an indicator on the car (which varies by model), why not just look at the display on the ChargePoint unit? It very clearly indicates how much power is being delivered, if any.

When the Leaf is full, all 3 lights will be solidly lit for a while, and then go out after a short time. Or so I'm told.

And the Leaf's manual confirms this. The indicator lights turn off after approximately 15 minutes after the car has been fully recharged.

I get an email notification thru Entune stating that my car's charge has been interrupted. This actually happened recently in my office building when the parking attendants decided to unplug me and a Leaf. I freaked out thinking that someone had stolen my cord which we all know costs something like $1000 to replace. I also have the Blink and Chargepoint applications on my phone and I can monitor the charge in real time. I've only charged at Chargepoint chargers twice and had great experiences both times - but then again, I was in Beverly Hills and even the parking attendants in that garage were in awe of me plugging in. I guess they don't have many electric cars there!

Charge point and Blink can be set up to send you a text message when charging has stopped due to an unplug.

There are three blue lights on the LEAF dash: each light represents 33% charging. If the middle bar is flashing (and the first one is solid blue), it means the charge is somewhere between 33-66%. There is no way for you to know that it is 85% charged without looking at the output on Range estimator when the car is turned on: also, most LEAF owners charge to 80% to conserve battery longevity. Nonetheless, very poor form to unplug your car prior to the charge being completed.

I made the mistake of unplugging a co-worker's Volt. He had told me it would be done charging at a certain time and I went there 30 minutes after that. Our work's Chargepoint station directly faces into the sun so I couldn't read the display as it was a sunny day. I unplugged the Volt, closed his charging port door and plugged in my PiP. After about 30 seconds his car alarm came on. It lasted about a minute and then went off. I didn't think much of it and sent him an email telling him what happened when I got back to my desk.

Later that day he called me angrily because On-Star called him thinking his car was being stolen and he had to go down to the Volt to do something to "reset" it. Anyway, it was embarrassing and I will never touch another person's car while it is plugged into a charger, especially a Volt.

Doesn't seem like something he should be angry at you about; he told you what time it was to be through charging. Maybe he should be the one to go down and unplug his car when it is scheduled to be finished charging. Maybe he hasn't read any of the comments about sharing chargers, etc. Now if he owned the charging equipment, that might be a different story.

I just was unplugged at a charging station as well. Even worse I just checked my charge point account, and I was charged for the six hours the other car was plugged in to the charger.

Do these sites have video surveillance? It could be that one or two calls will get this straightened out.

Don't see how that is possible. Once you unplug, it ends the charging cycle.

Call whatever company you were plugged into.

Was going to say. I can't unplug my car and plug right back in on a charge point charger.

That Volt owner is a tool bag.... I'm sorry he was like that to you.... and you can go ahead and tell him he needs to learn his car and give him a good hit for destroying good will between EV drivers...

    Two alerts

One is an ON star alert car stopped charging- car not charging with plug still in the car (loss of power, braker going off)
Two is the disconnect alarm If you plug in the car and lock the doors the car goes in to a procetction mode and will alarm if the charging cord is removed from the car. This can be disable via a menu option on 2012 and above and via dealership on the 2011 or by locking the doors with the key and not the remote.

Gort if you ever get to CT you can unplug my volt anytime...

Yes now the chargepoint problem appeared. Different brands worked differently. Chargepoint may display different brands notice for the user.
Just cooperate amoung each other and be considerate will have a peace world.
