To the left of the date and time at the top of each post, there is a clickable star. What does it do?

    Thanks!

I don't have a clue. Maybe no one else does either. It turns yellow if you click it.

When you first come on the site there is a list saying "my starred items". If you star an item while reading it the system will save it for you, like "favorites" or "bookmark".

Got it. "My Starred Stuff" shows up in "My Controls."

    Thanks Salsawonder!

Wow that looks handy, I've been writing stuff down on stickey notes for 3 months.

    nice!

Ok, does anyone know what clicking "+Quote" does other than make it "-Quote"?

This is the test section right?? It allows you to add that person's entry to your reply but only works in Add Reply. Then you can delete what you don't want in that entry or use the whole thing! I haven't done Optios buttons yet though.....

This is what it does! Click on somebody's "+Quote", it turns to "-Quote." Then, you choose "Add Reply" and it tacks on the quote that you chose!

Looks to me like you can click +quote on several different messages, turning the button red. Then use Add Reply at the very bottom of the thread, and the messages with Red quote buttons are all quoted in your reply.

    Ah ha! Thanks

Me too! This way (clicking the star) it's so much easier! :) There are so many threads and posts that I've wanted to save for future reference (where to get windows tinted, what kind of tires to replace OEMS with, etc), so I've either been printing them out, copy & pasting into Word and saving, or just writing down on sticky notes.

In Mac OS X land, a brilliant shareware program is available called 'sticky brain'. Best tried to be appreciated, but it may be helpful to think of it as an electronic organizer of sticky notes, rich text, index cards, pictures .. just about any kind of text or picture media. It, along with LaunchBar, are actually the reasons I have not migrated to Linux full time.

So, so useful, in this era of fleeting useful info crossing across our screens every day.

Boy that is helpful. The site controls make a lot more sense now.
