I am a newby and cant get the search to work.
No brake lights or dash lights radio, headlights etc. Nothing.. Horn works and the emergency lights. A little red one at the start button is on sometimes. Tried jumping under the hood [+ tab} and checked the 12 v battery and it checks good.
Any help. I use for work and need it to go ASAP. Thanks for the help.

Weird that you get power to the horn and emergency lights. When my car wouldn't start I found out the battery cable from the negative terminal to the body was loose and not making a connection. It was loose at the body.

Did you try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then reconnecting it and trying to start it? This will sometimes clear the ECU and allow it to start.

+1 for F8L's response. When my 2005's 12v battery started to die, the horn and emergency flashers worked, and not much else. Then they stopped working, too.

Moved to Gen II Troubleshooting forum. If you're still on your original 12V battery (located in the trunk), it's definitely time for a replacement.
