Hmm. The old version of the software didn't think the album art was corrupt or missing - I'm using the same USB drive as before. I wonder if there is a tech support contact at Toyota that could answer this question... ---- If anyone is wondering how to sync data to a USB for use with the Prius sound system, I sync'ed the MP3-formatted songs to the USB drive using the Windows Media app (on Vista). Tip: if you use one of those very short USB drives (e.g. SanDisk Cruzer ) your passenger is less likely to break it off with their knees when its in the USB port in the car! I received mine today. About a week after getting the letter that it was coming. Don't like the fact that I have to install entune app on my iTouch to use it. boooooo
I'm curious... why does Entune "cost" anything after the first 3 years? I own the car, and I own a smartphone with an Internet connection (the service for which I'm already paying for). The car should connect to my phone and use that connection. What exactly would I be "paying" for?? (Note: Okay, so I don't personally own it, but this is in regards to my Mom's new Prius C Four. )
Are you sure that's necessary? I know toyota says it is, but I don't have a smartphone..so it's impossible to load apps. However, everything on Entune works just fine for me, without it!
Update: So you are prompted that entune is required, but you can click no to the prompt and play music. I don't recall the prompt before the entune update.
I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. I don't use it to play music, but do use the traffic, weather and Bing without problem and without any app installed on my phone.
Does anyone else have an issue with going through the presets using the steering wheel controls when you're on a screen other than the audio one? Ever since I upgraded the software whenever I am in the navigation, car, or app screens my presets will not go past the second set if I press down. After it gets to P2-6 it goes back to P2-3 but if I press up I can scroll through all of them backwards. SGH-T989 ? 2
5 weeks tomorrow - no flash! Called to Toyota CEC - not much of a help. They said that they can not track the shipments. The only promising statement was that I will get it no later than the end of August. Will see... May be it is actually a good news, since I don't have any of the issues (yet) you guys mentioned here in the posts.
Very well stated and I also couldn't agree more. Erica, I also appreciate your later reply to this post. I think starting a new subforum just on Entune issues would be fantastic. This is definitely a "power user" group.
I've still not received mine. I've called, I've emailed, but Toyota for some reason can't track when they are sent nor can they give a time frame. I did receive an email to call them to confirm my phone number at the beginning of the month....but still no thumb drive in the mail. I find this really poor customer service.
Welcome to my world! Absolutely the same story here, and same steps taken. I know I can download the file from this thread, but to me it is a matter of principle whether I will get it from Toyota or not.
I haven't received mine either and I also had to call in and "confirm" my details with them a few weeks ago. I'm just glad someone took the time to upload the contents so I can update it, but still, I expect to receive the official drive from Toyota in a timely manner.
I just received my car on August 13th and I'm really surprised my car didn't include the update since it just was received at port on the 7th. I was told Toyota would call for a survey on how my purchase went, but I missed the call and they didn't leave a message. LOL, I may bring up the Entune subject and ask when and how do I receive the update. Most likely they wont know, its probably some intern or outside company who just does phone calls and data entry.
Called Toyota again... the guy on the phone was so funny, since I've mentioned in my question that the last time I talked to Toyota rep, she promised that I will get my flash not later that the end of August, his immediate answer was: "if you will not get your flash by the end of tomorrow - give us a call and we will mail you a new flash out". Yeah freaking right... 9 weeks today since the first email and no flash, tomorrow it will magically appear in my mail box! What a waste of time. Instead of all these promises, I wish some one would take a lead, and just mail another one.
How about just post online for download to a USB stick? The people who are more tech savvy wouldn't have a problem with this.
That's not a problem, but to me it is a matter of principle to get the stick. It is same as with 2 years complimentary service. I can replace the oil on my own, but why do i need to do that if this is a part of the package.
