Haha, yup good 'ol Apache! If I remember correctly, my stick-on visors had 3M tape too. They worked fine from mid-winter to late spring, then when summer came along, the adhesive started to melt and the visors started to sag. The sagging left the adhesive wide open to collect dust, subsequently ruining the adhesion. Car wash here and there finally taken a toll on the stick-ons. Thought about reapplying the 3M as you've mentioned but the idea of reapplying every couple months didn't appeal to me lol. But hey, if it works for you, more power!

I installed the weathertechs I got from the "caht shop" two weeks ago, the back ones have both broken off already. the leading lip that goes in the window channel breaks off and stays there while the visor goes soaring down the thruway. the windows have not been opened since they were installed.
the front ones fit ok. the drivers side is fine the passanger side doesn't slide all the way in at the bottom front and blocks the mirror.

If anyone is thinking about these DON'T................ at least not for a 2012.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. And Weathertechs are pricier than the eBay stick-ons, aren't they? In case anyone's wondering, these JDM visors do drastically reduce wind noise. They don't eliminate them but they do reduce; noticeable difference. However, if you'r driving close to a wall or a semi paces you, the noise will amplify. But if you're just cruising along with a crack of window open, you won't get that blaring "ruffle in the wind" sound effect. I've ordered a set for our Prius C :)

Thanks Steve ! That DIY was top notch ! Finally got mine on this afternoon. They were back ordered at Nigel and it took about 5 weeks to get them. I'm glad I went the whole 9 and sprung for the JDM visors. In my opinion, unless you are on a budget, don't settle for the imitations.

Looks great! Did you notice the reduction in wind noise too? I took my 'rents on a road trip down to San Diego from Los Angeles and that was one of the first thing they noticed.

Danny was able to get me replacments for the back two that broke off. they installed a lot easier than the first set.
so far no issue with them and they do help with the wind noise.

I just put mine on (JDM from Sigma), and I'd suggest that others should not put the clips on the visors before applying them. I did the first one with the clips on and had problems getting one of the clips to lock onto the door frame.

Putting them on after sticking the visor on is easier. Now I have to go try them on the freeway.

at the last socal prius meet, i managed to compare multiple types of window visors. I believe the oem jdm are the cleanest version. i contacted nigel for a group buy info. he is willing to give a small discount for 5 orders and slightly higher discount for 8. anyone else interested?
