I orderded this plate in September and I still haven't received it. Emails are not answered. I called Brian more than a month ago and then I was told I might expect to receive it within 3 weeks. Notice the 'might expect'. Nothing though. What has happened to courtesy and business ethics? If you cannot honor a contract get me my money back. Please.

All of our pending orders have been shipped. I have not received any emails from you but please call or email me at the address shown below.

I have kept in contact with EVERYONE on my list but it appears as if your order has slipped through. Did you place your order with us directly or through the Prius Chat store? Was your credit charge charged yet? Please provide us with this information as well as your full name and address. Once I have this I will be able to track down your order and confirm if it was ever received by us.

I have provided numerous updates on our shipping and asked for those that have not received notification to call us. It seems that perhaps you missed these posts so I urge you to get in contact with us so I can take care of your order.

    Thanks!!

Just in case, I received and responded to your email but since you mentioned that you were having email issues with me I figured I would post it here too.

Your stiffening plate was shipped to you via US Mail aproximately 2 weeks ago. Since you are located in Japan your order can take up to 2-3 weeks to reach you. I will locate the tracking number for you and email this to you as well.

If you have any questions please let me know.

    Thanks!!

I installed my plate two days ago. It was as simple as backing my car up on to car ramps, taking out four bolts and screwing in four allen screws.

I love the damn thing! What a difference it is making on my drive along back roads and on the highway. I can’t wait to get new tires (once the POS OEM tires wear out!).

Once you get the new tires, you'll think that you're driving a different car. Kudos to BT for providing us this mod! Credit where credit is due!!

A buddy of mine recently got an '05 and said his only complaint was the buffeting he got from side winds, so I turned him on to this forum and the stiffening plate.

Now my question is - Will this also be a problem on the 06's? I've read that Toyota changed their original equipment to strengthen the plate on the 06 model. Has anyone had their '06 long enough to respond?

I have had my 2006 for almost a week and have not noticed any body roll while driving. The majority of my driving time is spent in our 1988 Toyota LC (FJ62). My wife drives our Prius mainly and hasn't complained either. I'll have to climb under it and compare the stock plate on it to the pics Brian posted earlier. I'll try to get a photo as well.

    Fish on!!!

I've had my 2006 witht he BT plate installed for a few weeks now. Much better than stock. The stock plate is unchanged for 2006. It's still a thin formed piece of steel. The BT plate is far superior, and makes quite a difference. Highly recommend it, worth the money. Maybe it's just me, but I can still feel quite a bit of buffeting and weaving in the chassis. I have some other chassis stiffening parts so that should help. I suspect part of hte problem is also the stock suspension, so I'll likely swap that out as well.

    Don't believe what they say . . .

about the BT Tech stiffening plate. Though some say it makes quite a difference, most have described the change as "subtle." After a few days driving with it installed, I can say it is anything but.

I waited a few weeks after receiving mine -- in part because the thing is so darn beautiful I thought of putting it on a pedestal in my living room instead of under my 05 Prius -- I finally installed it four days ago. BTW, I never was one of those upset by the handling quality of the car before -- just interested in possible improvements on principle.

Having driven it for four days, all I can say is Wow! I can't believe the difference in stability while cornering, to say nothing of a drastic improvement in tracking and steering response under all conditions. I haven't had a chance to drive in heavy cross winds yet, but any improvement in that situation would be a bonus.

It is reprehensible that Toyota has not done something comparable for the stock vehicle, but never mind. . .

Some have complained of the price. Certainly, for just switching a piece of metal stuck under the car, it sounds expensive. For the product's quality of engineering, construction and finish it is reasonable. But, if I'd been asked to drive the car blind after the change without knowing what it took to make such a difference, and told "we'll undo it unless you give us $750," I'd gladly pay.

Bottom line: for the difference this mod makes in controllability and the fun-to-drive factor, it is a steal.

    Thank you, Brian! :D

The factory part is stamped steel, and probably doesn't cost Toyota more than a few bucks each. THe machines aluminum BT plate is obviously much higher qulaity, much stiffer, and MUCH more expensive. It's not cost effective for Toyota to do it. For the average person, what they get from the factory is enough, an they never even give it a thought.

I look forwards to seeing what the other four braces and stiffer suspension will do for me!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments and impressions of our stiffening plate.

I put a great deal of time into this part and it really makes me feel good knowing that you guys recognize the quality and attention to detail that went into this.

For those that are looking to order our stiffening plate we currently have only 10 plates in stock. We will be doing another production run but the lead times can vary greatly.

You can purchase our plate directly from us by calling or emailing us below or on the PriusChat on-line store.

    Thanks!!

    Brian,

Can you please let me know if the Plate is compatible with the 2003 Prius?? I am quite interested in acquiring one. I have not been able to reach you by PM for confirmation.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Hello Dave. The BT Tech stiffening plate was especially designed for the second gen Prius, (2004-2006)

The classic Prius is an entirely different body and would require a totally different redesigned plate.

    Thanks!!

    Hey Brian,

I just ordered the plate a few minutes ago. Do you still have them in stock or will I have to wait for the next production run?

    Thanks,
    Tim

just installed mine an hour ago. It was a snap to install. Comparing it side by side with the OEM stiffener is pretty pathetic. There's just no comparison. Period.
