Disconnect the 12volt battery for a few minutes to clear the system, reconnect and try again.

This is a good idea, but, can you check the 12V battery voltage first? In case you didn't already know, you can do this with the MFD.

If the link is in correctly now, in accessory mode the battery should about read 12v +or- when you go into ready mode it should read 14v +or-

The triangle could be on because the door is open.

Congratulations, sometimes it is the small detail that holds things up.

the door was closed tho. so what else should I check? Can I drive it? and what does the red car mean that is on the computer display as in my post #25? is the same message and the triangle?
anyway I let it idle a bit and kept the gas motor running. the battery bars dropped to two red ones but when i quit letting it idle the bars were 3 blue

The display looks normal for a battery with a charge of about 45% take the car for a short run to see how it behaves.

but first, doesnt the red triangle mean the brakes (transaxle) are not going to function?

For the moment do not bother with the 12v measurement. Try the car on a short run, the HV battery appears to be charging OK (bars going blue).

Take it for a short drive to charge the battery.

If you want to let it idle make sure the the car is in "P" (so that it can charge the battery).

If you are not confident to drive it at the moment you can try "force charging" the battery. Do this by placing it in "D" and placing one foot firmly on the brake and the other gently increasing the pressure on the accelerator until the engine revs at about 1500 - 1800 rpm and arrows are shown charging the battery. Take it up to about about 5 or 6 blue bars. If all this is working properly then by all means take it for a short drive.

Drive it on a quite street and test those things. Yes be careful, but you need to test to find out. Remember that you always have the park-brake as a direct mechanical backup.

Some lights might not go out until after it's been driven for a while.

Is the tail gate shut properly this can cause that red light.
