Installed a new left side speed sensor during the Labor Day weekend. (!), ABS and VSC warnning light disappeared immediately. So far so good! I will keep you informed later. Next thing I am going to do is replacing the 3-way valve (code p1121). Where should I approach it, top or bottom? Do I need to remove other components to access this parts? Thanks,

I found brief instruction from this site: Luscious Garage | Blog | Prius P1121: Coolant Flow Control Valve Position Sensor Stuck
"The valve can be removed by elevation the inverter........"
There are two black mounting arms at the front of the inverter, which I can let them free. Are there more mounting screws that I need to remove in order to free the inverter?

Thanks, I went through Spring maintenance one thing that I didn't understand is why did he need to open the inverter cover, in order to lift it? Is it same for 2006 model?

I think he did that to release some of the wiring to get even more access to the area under the inverter. To me that looks like a lot of work, and it may or may not be easier to access things from beneath the car by jacking up, and wheel and plastic liner removal.

Hi everyone, I have read this thread carefully - as I have had some issues and got my car out of the shop/dealer who replaced the coolant valve part that I missed the recall on (another thread Patrick helped me on)... NOW I have the ABS-VSC light with codes c0205 (LF Wheel Sensor) and now a C1236 (Front Left Metal Stick to Sensor). I ordered the new sensor, but last night my friend I bought the car (his mother) took off the wheel and we closely inspected the sensor and the rotor teeth and found nothing that looked damaged or corrupted. We only saw a blade of grass on the sensor. Put everything back together after wiping off sensor and the codes lights still came blazing on (lose brake power and have that big red triangle symbol). But later I realized maybe we needed to reset them? We drove it and the brake light went off the VSC light went off along with the ABS one BUT the big Red Triangle Stayed on.

    My question is two fold:

    1. Do these codes point to only an issue with the sensor, and what could the C1236 mean about left metal stuck to it?
    2. Would only one wheel sensor cause the brakes to seemingly be out except for the rear one (seems the back rear brake was the only one really engaging when driving without the hydrolic brakes).
    3. Should I clear the codes again, or just go ahead and get that new sensor installed when i get it Monday and hopes that will fix it?

Thanks Patrick I hope who replies and other genius members who we (me) wouldn't survive without you. Can't wait to get my techstream software!! ;)

    1. Did you rotate the wheel by hand so that you could inspect every rotor tooth?
    2. Yes, the codes point to a problem with the sensor, the rotor teeth, the wiring between the sensor and the skid control ECU, or the ECU itself.
    3. It doesn't hurt to clear the DTC because if there is an underlying problem, don't worry, the warning lights and DTC will reappear.

We did shine a flashlight and looked at each of the rotors actually I looked at him with the flashlight as he turned them And everything looked good so I've got the part and I'm going to have a shop replace it this morning and clear the codes and then I'm holding my breath that is it thank you so much Patrick !!!

The above sentence was supposed to say I looked at them the rotor teeth myself all good Lol

i am at my wit's end. Just had the LF Wheel Sensor replaced to get rid of the C0205 and c1236 codes, then later drive away the Brake/ABS/Warning Triangle appear again with that screeching buzzer. Pulled over got codes again at O'Reilly's . same codes except now I have a new one: C1234 MALFUNCTION IN YAW RATE SENSOR

What could this be now???? why would i have a new code when I didn't before had a shop install new sensor? do you think they did it wrong?
