I want to try and set the Passive Mode to auto lock after 30 sec. if I forget to lock the doors when I walk away. I have tried the "Dance" several times but I never get the system to perform "forced door lock once (answer back)" half way down in the "dance"

I insert the FOB in the slot and take it out three times with the drivers door open.
    I close the drivers door.
I click lock and then unlock, lock, unlock, lock, unlock with the FOB.
I open and close the driver side door.
I push the lock, unlock, lock, unlock, lock, unlock on the door lock button.
Then open the driver side door
    But nothing happens.

Does it not work anymore on the 2006? Do I need to have the Prius on or in "Ready" mode? I have the alarm turned on from the Scan Tool "Customize, DOP, On", does that change things?

Hope somebody can help me out with this.

    Thanks! :(

It isn't doing what you want b/c that is not what "Passive Mode" does. If the car is unlocked without opening the door passive mode will re-lock it.

This is unchanged from the '04+ MR. I think many of us would like the car to auto lock when we walk away, with the fob, but the car is not set up to do that.

I trust your knowledge as being a moderator but it seems several other priuschatters such as WRPRICE and DanMan32 seem to state that there are two types of passive modes and do mention auto locking after you leave the car and reference to http://priuschat.com/forums/download.php?id=1104 as the way to set the passive mode on.

    Still confused.

Could you point me to the threads where they state that? I believe Danman and others have had their car switched to Passive mode only to find that it did NOT auto-lock after exiting the vehicle as they'd hoped.

By those quotes I'm still correct. Neither states that the door locks when you walk away.
1)Locks if the door is not opened within 30 seconds of unlocking as I explained above.
2)Arms the alarm, but does not lock the car.

Ding Ding Ding! Lightbulb just went off! You're right. It was the second Passive Mode and every time I was reading it (I guess reading it to say what I wanted it to instead of what it was actually saying) I thought when it said arm I was thinking it was locking. Sorry. Guess I just need to get used to pressing the little black button outside the car.
