36.2 MPG for trips less than 2 miles not good

    A real simple solution here - When the car beeps and tells you to fill up - fill it up. I dont think you need to worry about running out of gas with 2 bars left unless there is a problem with your car. If you are getting 50MPG and have gone 400 miles since your last fill up - you should probably start looking for a gas station within the next 50 miles.

    If I had a comute of 2milesi would definitely bike there.
