Question: Who is paying for your rental? Toyota, or your insurance?

I just got broadsided by a deer last week and lost the driver's side door and front fender. They are saying it will be an "indefinite" period of time until they can get these parts in, due to massive backorders. I don't have rental car coverage on my insurance, an idiot oversight on my part of course, but even if I did have it ... it only covers to a certain amount. Not "indefinitely."

I'm curious if we have a case to demand some help on this from Toyota since they should be manufacturing the parts to go along with their cars. I love my Prius c, and I have loved being a Toyota owner thus far, but I can't go without my car "indefinitely."

My parents insurance is paying for the rental. My door was on back order too. I would have had mine yesterday but they messed it up so I have to wait a while longer. :(

Wowsers. Every six months I borrow my mother's car for a day and take it in for servicing for her. For the last few years this was a fairly seamless experience - she has a 2006 Corolla Sedan auto and I used to drive a 2003 Corolla Hatch manual. Other than a newer model car audio, the dash and controls were basically identical.

I've only had my c for 10 weeks now so I expected jumping back into her car tonight would be familiar territory, but boy did it slap me in the face. Sooooo can't wait to give it back to her tomorrow night and retrieve my c!

I hear ya there. Every time im in a "normal" car now I cant help but feel like its shaking and vibrating WAY to much at stop lights, like something is wrong. I have to remind myself that its its just that silly engine not tuning off.
