this has been discussed, but the only solution so far has been disconnecting it. it's basically a horn/noisemaker. all you can do is replace it with some other noisemaker that operates on the same voltage.

My teenager wants me to hack the noisemaker and replace the default sound with that of the TARRDIS from Doctor Who. If this were easy to do, I'd definitely go for it.

I'd honestly be ok with the noisemaker being louder and a wider radius that makes it go off. I could run down people weekly in parking lots that have no idea I'm behind them.

Since when do Prius owners care more about cool than safety?

I have my Prius for only a week and almost took out my first texting pedestrian . I was pulling out of my works parking garage onto the access road to the main road. Going about 10 mph in EV mode. She walked off the curb texting looking down right in front of me. I stopped and she continued crossing and texting across the road. Never looked up. I should have hit the horn and made her drop her phone! :-D So much for the noise maker!!!
