Have my USB drive plugged in all the time and EVEN when the audio is turned off...it restarts automatically (after shutting down the car).

    How do I:

    1. Get the audio system from starting back up automaticaly after I fire the car up
    2. And if that doesn't work, how do I get it from playing USB automatically?

Is this still occurring? I have not noticed this annoying issue since the last Entune update.

Yes, unfortunately it's doing this. Funny thing is that, it NEVER did this prior to the recent entunes update. Any ideas besides unplugging my USB? I installed the latest version again already.

This is THE most annoying problem with the V. In fact the ONLY annoying problem.

What I did was record 3 "songs" with 2-3 minutes of silence each, and named them "Aaaaa," "Aaaaab," and "Aaaaac." That way, when the USB begins playing automatically, it begins playing one of the "silence songs" which gives me enough time to either pause it or shut off the audio.

How stupid to have to do this, though.

Please complain to Toyota's Customer Satisfaction Line about it. My service rep said this will never get fixed "unless enough people let Toyota know that it's a problem."

The same thing happens if you have an iPhone plugged in. If there are songs on the phone, it starts playing them when the car is turned on or the navigation is turned on if it was off.

Certainly will call. What's the number? Want to remain consistent.

When was the update? Mine does this, and I bought the car in mid-July, so if that was after the update, then I have the latest version on the car.

I would be interested in a solution to this as well.

I have a 2012 Prius v Five (sadly without ATP). Entune is the original version that came with the car (I got the letter in the mail that promised an update on USB stick, but it never arrived).

When I plug in my iPhone, the iPod feature starts automatically. It starts playing a song, even when I don't want it to. I also found the solution of recording a track of all silence, but I'd rather it not change the radio's settings at all. I can't tell you how many times I've been listening to something good on AM/FM or Sirius, and then the stupid iPod link comes on and takes over the radio from whatever I was listening to.

And, I'm getting *really* sick of the "Do you want to connect to Internet?" prompt. Of course I would! Otherwise, I wouldn't have plugged in the iPhone!

My most wished for feature is a way to swap the defaults of these two features. The iPod link should default to Off, and the Internet data link should default to On. Is there a way to do this? Any hope for this in the next software upgrade?

Only if enough people complain to the Customer Experience line mentioned above: 1-800-331-4331

If they don't know there's a problem, they can't fix it.

Just a note if you have an iPhone, mine is an iPhone4, which upgraded to ios6, this weekend. As a result phone no longer auto plays when first connected. Previously ran ios5.1 and like everyone else always had first song start auto playing. Don't know if Apple folks built in a fix but for now it seems to work.

    Called, confirmed and complained.

When the USB drive is plugged in, it has precedence over any other audio source. That's bad, but not as bad as this...It will turn on automatically despite the last setting on the audio system before shutting off the vehicle.

It's just nuts that they would make it work like that. This is literally the ONLY thing I dislike about the "v," and it really bugs the snot out of me.

    Yeah, totally.

It's embarrassing when you have "Call me maybe" blasting from your speakers when you take your co-workers to lunch. I now am regulated to keep my USB stick unplugged. Damn shame.

It does the same thing through Bluetooth. As soon as I start the car my Iphone music starts automatically. It also happens after a phone call even if the music was on hold. What a bug!

Mine just started doing this all of a sudden. It has never done this before until yesterday and I never update entune.
    It is very annoying.
Anyone ever get a fix for this?

This is just a hunch but try unplugging the USB and switching the stereo to FM before turning off the car. Then plug the USB in next time you get into the car but BEFORE you turn anything on.

I had this problem for a long time then it went away. It came back for about a week then went away again. During those times I was adding music to the USB so I was unplugging it a lot. Maybe the sequence in which you plug it in (car on or off) makes a difference?
