Do you use the same sealers and waxes on rims or something different?

    Hi Steve,
I had to wash it once for that 3M film rework. She stays pretty clean sitting in the garage :) I think I have 800 miles on her now. Might be 700 something but as usual I am not home to check :( I'll have to do a nice wash & wax before I throw the blankie over her until spring. Gonna change the oil too as I don't want to leave it all winter with used oil in the motor.

There are special treatments for alloy wheels, but since factory and most aftermarket alloy wheels are clear coated, you can treat them the same as any painted surface.

Using wax or most sealants on your wheels is a waste of time, since the high temps will deteriorate whatever you use in no time.

Except--RejeX. It was developed specifically for the military for high temp applications.

Optimium opti-coat 2.0 or CarPro CQuartz.. both work great on wheels

Try checking the temperature of your car's roof after it has been parked in the Sun awhile, then compare that to the wheel temperature.

That didn't come to me immediately. You made me think, I shall be wary of you in the future.:)

Wary indeed my friend... Sometimes the most obvious answer is the most elusive to others :)

Would anyone be interested in a half-day detailing how-to? It would be in MN and hosted by me. Good timing just before winter.
