I'll update tomorrow see about using it through USB... But I know Siri always woks for me via BT. I mean, I have to hold the Home button down still, but it uses the car speakers just fine.

I'll do more Pandora-Ing tomorrow to update a bit. The little I've done has worked fine, and when I plug it into USB it always plays music through the car speakers like normal, so far it hasn't used car speakers.

Siri works through Bluetooth. Just pair the phone and press and hold the usual button on the phone. The system looks like it goes into a phone call, but it should work. Obviously, not ideal since you still need to use the hone to initiate it.

I just got the iphone 5 today:)

I haven't set up Entune yet since June after reading all horrible posts about it. And still didn't receive the flash drive from Toyota yet, should I set up Entune before or after update?

Using USB Siri goes through the phone not the sound/speaker system.

You still have to hit the home button on the phone. No other way to do it. I wish Apple would release some kind of remote button to activate Siri without fumbling with the phone. It works pretty well through BT audio. I wouldn't trust the iOS 6 maps as your sole GPS, though! Today it couldn't find my work address and routed me completely the wrong way.

If you want a good GPS app, use Waze. It uses crowd sourcing to update your route as far as traffic, accidents, police activity, etc. Beware though, it uses a lot of battery power, so make sure you are plugged in. Also, if you want to hear the verbal directions/warnings, make sure your audio is set to iPod.

I have a 4S and it recognized it right away but I have no folder control when I'm using BT. Only if I'm plugged into the USB cable and use it as an ipod and not BT. But then when I'm using it as Ipod I cant play the audio...just cue it up through the folders. I have to switch back to BT to play it. Not a deal breaker but it should be more fluid than that. too many steps for a "hands free" device.

I have a 4s also and do have control through the audio screen in the car. Sometimes it can't find the iPod source and just keeps hunting. When that happens I just start the Entune app again on the phone. That usually works. If it doesn't, try rebooting your phone.

You can still get it without paying early termination fee. You can add a line to your existing service for 9.99 per month and get the phone on that line. Then transfer it to your current line. our "new" dummy line will not need a data plan.

I had an old....3G iphone...not even the "S" :) and I just got my iPhone 5 this Monday. What a world of difference. Everything works fine in my GenIII Prius with Entunes/Bluetooth/USB cable. The same ol' snafus I see complained about are still present, but for the most part it works well. I can't believe how great the iPhone 5 is compared to the 3g.

I also know there are a lot of complaints out there right now about Apple maps - but I have to tell you, Apple Maps is way better than the map app in Entune. You can look at a list of all the streets/directions and not just have to blindly trust the map (I like to have a general idea of where the route guidance is taking me - sometimes I want to avoid toll roads, or areas where I know traffic will be bad, or construction will slow me down). The Entune map is outdated in my area, missing streets, and has taken me wrong directions several times. Since I bought the car I've still been using my TomTom because the maps in Entune suck. I'm happy to say my TomTom is retiring and I'll primarily use Apple Map. Love the fact that when connected via bluetooth the directions come right out the car speakers, and then when I get a phone call, the directions are muted. I absolutely could NOT STAND that the voice guidance did not mute when a phone call came in using the included Entune map and bluetooth. When I would bluetooth connect my TomTom to the car, it would mute the directions when I got a call, too.

I honestly don't see much point in Entune, really. Seems like I can do everything I need via Bluetooth, so I sure won't be paying for Entune when the free 3 years are up.

I also noticed streaming Pandora through Entune sounds like crap. I streamed Pandora via bluetooth from my phone, and guess what? Sounds 110% better.

Wow that's cool. NOT. Why would you bother posting in this thread unless your trying to start crap. Any one reading or posting in this thread does not want to hear your hate mongering or trouble making.

Happy driving and may the mpgs be with you and all that, now power mode off.

    Thank you for your comment.

I noticed earlier in the thread that many posts were singing the praises for the iphone, so I thought that I'd add balance and my view. It appears you made no comment to the positive iphone posts, yet felt the need to respond to my negative experiences.

That tells me alot about users of that over priced, bug ridden piece of tat. :p

Well I've tried time and time again and on my Prius C2 the iPhone 5 sound is routed through the speakers on phone calls, but the turn by turn directions are muted when the phone is paired up to my regular Prius C2 stereo system. So no voice turn by turn directions when my iPhone 5 is paired up to my standard stereo system.

    Am I doing something wrong?

You have to be listening to either iPod or Bluetooth Audio to hear the turn-by-turn directions. They're mixed into those streams by Apple, so if you're not listening to one of them you won't hear your directions. You could change the path on the phone to output from them from the phone speakers, but that might not be loud/clear enough.
