The more experienced prius people here will probably shout me down for raising this but I find the feature really handy.

I am talking about the door locking and unlocking without using the key. The unlocking I got quickly. Hard not to. But the locking I didn't work out straight away.

I love the fact that all I need to do is pinch / touch the grooves and the car locks. Simple but effective. Saves me a lot of time when I have to hold a baby, laptop bag and then attempt to find through car key. Instead I just touch the grooves bit.

    Nice.

Why would you think anyone would shout you down for this neat feature? I think it is one of the top features of the Prius. It bugs me when I drive my wifes car and realize that I actually have to take the key out of my pocket.

I still sometimes reach for the key in my pocket only to realize I only have to touch the grooves on the door handle. Old habits die hard.

I like the change they made to the grooves from the small black button you had to press on the Gen II. Now, if Toyota had only gone a step further to the system Ford is offering, where you just need to put your foot under the rear bumper for the hatch to open. :p Totally hands free!

I enjoy the keyless entry, Start and locking.

My wife's Camaro requires its "Switch-blade" key to Start the car.

Yeah, that is a pretty cool feature. I saw in action at Alt Car Expo in Santa Monica. Wave your foot under the rear bumper.

Any time I'm driving a regular car now, I'll get in, belt in, and then have to squirm to get the effing key out of a pocket.

Now if only my house door would open without the key! After I get out of the PIP, I still have to dig the keychain out of my pocket. While with my other car, I leave the keychain in my hand to open the door. Oh well. One step at a a time.

I love it also! It's great, I never have to take the fob out to lock or unlock the door. I tell my friends and co-workers... I am driving a computer that has 4 wheels!:giggle:

    Be careful.

I got out of my 2007 car that also had Keyless Entry and the wife drove it away, until I called her to bring it back.

If she had turned off the car, she wouldn't have been able to re-start it to pick me up.

Yoda is in da' hauz! WUP-WUP! :)

Yes, this is great feature and Ford has now taken a step further by not needing a hand at all to open the rear hatch. You move you foot underneath the rear bumper and a power lift is activated; no touching which is really good as rear hatches/liftbacks get dirty very quickly.

There is a device which will unlock the door when your iPhone gets near the door. Also I believe the lock companies make door locks with remote fobs...

I find it funny that when i use the self-car wash when the brush goes over the handle it repeatedly locks and unlocks the door.
