Eco Driving Indicator Off while in ECO Mode and Hybrid Eco area

    Folks,

    I noticed a very weird situation with the display last evening. I was driving in the ECO Mode like I almost always do and noticed the "Eco Driving Indicator Light" was off even while I was driving in the Hybrid Eco Area of the HSI (Hybrid System Indicator).

    As can be seen in the attached picture, the green ECO MODE light is on on the top left, but the center Eco Driving Indicator Light is off. It would normally be off if the vehicle were stationery but in this case the vehicle was on the move.

    I thought I noticed it once last year as well, but dismissed as a fluke (or confusion on my part) since it went away when I restarted the car. Now that I have seen it again (and this time taken pictures and a video) I wanted to make sure this is known and normal behavior. I am going to talk to the dealer but wanted to get some ideas here as to the possible causes so I can readily confront the dealer if the dealer dismisses it as a fluke.

    There's an option to turn the HSI Eco light off/on using the steering wheel controls. It's in the manual.

    Your transmission is in B, then the eco indicator wont work. Put in D, then it will work.

    Thanks so much for catching this. I must have accidentally moved the gear knob with my elbow or something.
