A 4x8' flatbed aluminum trailer would do the trick :) There are some nice low visual impact hitches for the Prius. Last summer I seen a 2nd Gen pulling a three seat sit down jet ski on a single trailer.

The cheapest way to move a 4X8 sheet is to rent the Home Depot truck. It is $19.95 for 90 min. They never ask questions. I have used to bring a mattress set from Sams Club and many other things over the last 3 years.

Here is the math $19.95 maybe 3 times a year equals $60. A roof rack for your Prius is close to $300. That is 5 years of use and you do not need to store the rack. Most people will not need it more than 3 times a year. It is win win for people without trucks.

If you need a full size truck for a day Enterprise Rental car will get you one for $45 to $60. There are a lot of coupons out there.

Good option to remember. I looked into the equivalent from Lowe's, and found that 90 minutes was not enough time for what I had in mind, and they added a hefty mileage surcharge. I ended up renting a truck from u-haul that cost about $70 for a day after all the fees etc were added up.

*Much* better than owing a truck, but paying $20 total a job is probably optimistic much of the time.

Hertz rents RAV4's with roof racks & crossbars :) We rented one not too long ago for $35 a day unlimited mileage. We hauled a whole lot of stuff across the country.

Traded my 2006 Chevy 3/4 ton, 4-door 4x4 diesel for the Prius.
Friends thought I was crazy, but 90% of the time, I was driving in the truck alone, going to pick up the kids or running errands. I really didn't need a $40K, 18mpg truck.

Since I bought the Prius, it's like someone is depositing $500 into my checking account each month!
Plus, it's a LOT easier to park in the city!

Went from a Jeep Liberty that averaged 14.8 mpg to my 2012 Prius 4, which has been averaging about 50 mpg. I realized that beyond the mileage, I didn't need a tow vehicle with heavy duty oil cooler and 20" wheels when most of my driving is running errands with no passengers in the car.

So far I LOVE my Prius...just love it!

I also have a Jeep liberty and driving the Prius is like getting a $150 a month raise. And that's including financing.

I only use the Liberty for towing a trailer or let the kids drive it when they wreck their car.

Surprising what the Prius can haul, I had 3 tubas in cases in my Prius one day.

Replaced a Dodge Grand Caravan with a Prius V Five and kept the Honda CR-V for the nastiest winter days.

I traded my 07 Camry Hybrid for a 2012 Prius 4, and I was astounded by the difference in gas mileage. The Prius delivers way better than the advertised 50 mpg, often in the 60 to 64 range on my 80-mile daily round trips, but I haven't operated it in cold weather yet, when I expect the mpg to drop some. Still, I'd never go back. Got about 43 mpg in the Camry, and the Prius interior is just as roomy, has more techno stuff and it's more fun to zip around in.

Very nice to go from $65 to $32 at the pump and driving 100 more miles!

Went from a much loved, but gas-guzzling '06 V8 4Runner to our 2010 Prius. The gas savings is GIGANTIC given we drive 25k+ miles/year, but I miss my truck very often, especially once snow flies. The Prius on snow tires does ok, but ground clearance and the occassionaly momentum stopping traction control are a hindrance here in VT, especially on dirt roads.

When the Prius is paid off, I'll be replacing our 2nd car (currently a 96 Accord) with another 4runner.

Replaced a 2006 Hummer H3 with a 2012 Prius 3. Not sorry to lose my 14 MPG, but this is the 1st winter that we'll see how it handles Wyoming snow.

Last March I traded in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cheokee for a 2012 Prius 3rd generation. Love the car, like the ride, like all the gadgets. Most of all with the Jeep it was $60.00 a week for gas with the Prius $36.00 every 18 to 21 days. Makes all the difference in the world. But winter is coming here in rual southwest Wisconsin plan is to park the Prius once the snows hit and drive the other Jeep (2007) I have.
But so far it has been great.

Sold our '98 Land Rover Discovery to buy our first Prius. I enjoyed the places we could go in it, but don't regret it in the least. And practically since having kids we haven't had the time to roam the desert anyway ;) Never expected to love the Prius as much as we do.

13 mpg Premium to 52 mpg regular is just crazy. Saving almost $2,500 a year just on gas at current prices. Never mind the $100-$500 services what felt like very few months.
