Not sure what or how it happened but for the last 6 months no problems. Now I see the iPhone phonebook is no longer seen by my Prius. It still receives calls and I can go to my phonebook on the phone and make calls through the BT system? If I try to make a call through the car it says there are no entires for "dial by name" option.

2011 Prius III with solar and navi.

Have you tried deleting the BT pairing both on the phone and the car and setting up the phone fresh from the car?

My iPhone phone book gets lost every couple of weeks.
When i have this I just reload/import my phonebook again. Out of my head there is a button on the left side
Of the phone book screen to reload.

Well the suggestion to re-import the phone book worked. Now I wonder how long until it "loses" it again. This is the first time in six months....don't really want to do this on a regular basis.

I just had a major let down! The Iphone 4s is not compatible with audio bluetooth streaming in my Prius IV. I called toyota support and they sent me to Toyota.com - Connect, on the site it will ask you your phone model and car info, then it lists all the capabilities of you phone connections with green check marks and red X's. What a bummer.

Works for me also. But you have To Connect it twice. Once for the phone and once for the audio.

I had an iPhone 4S for a year, and now an iPhone 5 for several weeks, and everything works fine.

i had to that the first time only; now it connects automatically every time i get in the car and turn it on.
PS. Can someone explain to me the point of having the address book in the car at all? You can use Siri/Voice dialing on the phone to dial someone's number, and the recents call list/incoming call info shows the person's name even if you never transfer your address book.

I have not been able to successfully have Siri voice dial a number using bluetooth in my V+nav. Siri breaks the bluetooth connection between ending the request and dialing the number and the car doesn't respond as quickly. Any suggestions?

so I did try this. I had BT audio playing, held down the home button, gave my command, everything worked fine. it is kind of funny to watch the screen though, because when siri is active, the Prius thinks it's placing a call to itself…

Ah -- you had the Bluetooth connection already open playing music. What happens if you're listening to another input -- say SAT or USB?

i'd expect it to work the same as any other phone call, since that's what the system sees it as, but let me check.

    it worked just fine.
but I also realized that we have different systems. I'm trying all this in a 2012 PiP, and the audio/HU system was completely refreshed in 2012 with Entune and all that stuff. In fact, I realized that the Prius native voice dialer works just fine even if I never transfer the phone book to the car.

yes, I realize this is an old thread but it has happend to me multiple times in our 2011 Prius Model 4. Both with iPhone 4S and iPhone 5.

Have not been able to determine what the trigger is but something is causing the Prius to lose the iPhone phone book stored in memory. Re-importing the contact list and then re-setting the quick call feature is time consuming and annoying.

Anyone else having this issue or know how to resolve it fully?

    Thanks,

This happens to my wife's car every few months or so. She also has an iPhone. It happened again today. It isn't much trouble to reload the contacts, but losing the quick dial is very annoying. Haven't been able to detect what the trigger is; but am going to start monitoring it every time I get in the car. If you figure it out please let me know.
