I had just started driving this morning, when I a beeping sound came on and the Brake light, red triangle, and the check engine light came on at once, it is a 2006 Toyota Prius and it is my first car so I am still new to diagnosing the issue with my car, I would really appreciate all advice, thank you.

Check the strenght of your 12V . If showing below 12v after sitting all night then its time for a new 12V. H

Do you have a OBD II code scanner/reader? That's your first step to
    finding out what's wrong.

Read the codes and tell us what they are.

Don't have a code scanner? Go to Autozone or Advance Auto and they
will read them for you for free.

If the 12v is the original then it would be the first thing to check; esp if the car had been sat on a dealer lots for a while before you bought it.

If you don't have the volt meters and scanners etc, then an easy way to check early in the morning and put the car in Acc mode (not Ready) and then wind down all the windows and then wind them all back up at the same time. If they're ok, then your 12v is ok, if they are really slow, painfully so, then your 12v could be the problem. Also check the interior lights when doing this. If they go dull then the 12v is the problem.

A replacement isn't too expensive and there are some alternative options available your side of the pond too.

    Good luck.

Thank you all! I will do this first thing tomorrow morning! What's the average price for a replacement?

Thanks, I just ran this test and my battery ended up dying, so I'm guessing that I definitely need a new battery, how much does it run me for and where should I purchase it? Should I go to a Toyota dealer?

I would buy it at Toyota. There are other battery's you can purchase, but that is up to you. I am not sure of the price in your area. Good luck, H

I took into the dealer and they said it was two things, the Hybrid Battery Pack and the rear battery, the Battery Pack was covered by the warranty and I only had to pay for the rear batter which came out to be $309

Are you saying the hybrid battery was toast? That is unusual! H
