I took delivery of my pip and love it. The dealer not so much. Did the survey and follow up survey and havent been contacted by anyone yet. I have been trying to get some scratch issues resolved and also have them fulfill the promise of all weather floor mats. They have worked on the scratches by wet sanding them and i was supposed to get a call back from the original salesperson. Been over a week and no contact. Just want this resolved. Should i contact toyota about it or still try to go the dealer route?

    Wet sanding??!!
Holy crap....those must have been soooome scratches.

Here's the deal from where I'm looking....
If you've already trashed them in the customer satisfaction survey then you've already expended most of the rounds in your bandolier WRT the dealer's management. No matter what they do….good or bad….you’ve already trashed them in the survey.
    OK.
So this may be different than the owner(s) of said dealership....and it will indeed be different than whatever (*cough!*) customer care arm that Toyota uses here in North America.
    Send Faxes.
    Looooots and Loooooots of faxes.
They're a little heftier than emails, but they're faster and a little less expensive (free, if you do it right!) than licking stamps.
    Yeah.
    I know.....
    Nobody licks stamps anymore.

One of the good things about Prius drivers is that they're fairly brand loyal, especially Pip drivers.....most of which are repeat Prius Owners....that….or they just want to cheat their way into being able to use the carpool lane without having to bother with carpooling....or both.
If Toyota seems a little unresponsive to the constant and strident fussing about all things Prius????
Well....part of it is because they're....Toyota, and part of it is because they're a little bit like Harley Davidson (or Apple) in that they're going to build them the way they build them and if you don't like it?
    Well......you're the problem.
And....they're going to move ALL of their cars and trucks....especially Priuses.
    Don't like it?
    Don't buy it.
    Somebody will.
    Looked at gas prices lately?

    So….Some good news.
Some of this has changed a little over the years because of competition and some negative press about quality assurance and the unresponsiveness of Toyota of North America.....and the fact that Americans are without a doubt the most moronic drivers on the planet, and are frequently the “victims” of (*cough!!!*) unintended acceleration.
Also....we're still spluttering our way along in repeating Japan's "Lost Decade" economically. Cars are selling as well as they are only because it's VERY easy to get financed for a new one.

So...send your cards, letters, and faxes.
    If the dealer is smart?
    They'll work with you.
    If they're hungry?
    They'll work with you.

Thanks for the advice! I wouldnt even have dealt with this dealership if it wasnt for them having the only pips at the time. 1st time prius buyer and i love the car! Driving only at 28 % ev and still love the savings. Only filled up tank 2 times in the 1000 plus miles :) i should have known this dealership was going to be bad. It is a bigger one but it took like forever to confirm my financing. Then when i picked the car up it was a marathon to get the paper work done. Noticed the scratches after i got home and the wife asked "what are these." Contacted dealer. Had to wait for the salesman to look at it a week later. Then had to bring back in to get the paint guys opinion. Then back in again for paint guy to wet sand. Scratches are into clear coat it appears. Just wish all the dealers had the pips. I would have went lil closer and maybe been a better buying experience.

The prep crew at my dealer scratched the left rear door window of my PIP, taking off a sticker. It looks like they took it off with a rototiller. I've shown it to the salesman and the internet sales manager and they've shown it to the prep people and told me the'll order a new glass. Well, it'll be a week Monday. I've only taken the initial survey and right now, I'm waiting for the hurricane to pass through before I start making some noise. We'll see.

The first survey was just a few questions on the phone, then the guy said I should receive another by e-mail.

That sounds like handing your ballot to a politician and telling him to take care of it for you. :D

Weird, I received the survey request via e-mail, which pointed to a dedicated website Toyota uses for surveys. Pretty shady if they are making you fill it out right then and there. I would have walked away.

Well the saga continues. I took the prius in to the dealership this morning after my night shift. We talked about how they were going to paint it and we're a lil worried with all the dust that may be in the air with the hurricane and all. Lol. That was at 10 am this morning. Got a rental car thru them and went home. Got call at 6pm to pick up if I want or wait till tomorrow. Thought it was odd since we talked about the paint process and how it would net a set time and would probably be there a day. Go there the car is gleaming. Scratches lighter but still there. Going to try a lighter compound tomorrow and buff it. Lol why lie to me. Also manager said every car has imperfections and these would probably be back after the first snow brush is used on it. Getting really frustrated. It is amazing to me that their talented paint guy could exactly duplicate the scratches or it just isn't getting painted lol.
