I've been trying to find a Blizzard White Prius 3 for a good price but am not having much success. Other people seem to be getting better prices than what I've been offered. So far I have offers from three dealerships. These are their internet offers which are below the MSRP. I need the leather upgrade which these cars have. They also have other options that have been added by the dealer.

$27,989 with Special Color, Leather upgrade, 3m Window Tint, Mud Guards, Premium Carpet Mat Set, Vehicle Shield Package

$27,939 with the same options as above

$28,850 with Special Color, Leather upgrade, 3m Window Tint, Mud Guards, Premium Carpet Mat Set, Vehicle Shield Package, Night Vision Mirror, Spyder Net, Color-Keyed Side Molding

The dealer I've talked to the most won't budge. Am I being unrealistic to want to pay less?
    I'm in the South.
    Thanks for any help.

Ah, SE region,,, a little tougher. Those prices are a little steep but with the price of gas high and demand up... Towards year-end deals start to pop up unless your are in a hurry.

    Can you get 0%?

Sounds like another SE region worthless add on. I suggest if you can travel north to buy from a different region where you are not forced to buy worthless so called packages. You will also find much better pricing.

That's what I thought but I want it NOW!!! :D I guess I can wait but I'm afraid what I want may not be available if I wait too long. I may end up with a 2013 and have to pay more anyway. I haven't discussed financing with a dealership but I am preapproved at my bank.

I guess I should have waited before I sold my Hyundai Santa Fe. A friend kept asking for it so I caved. She seems very happy. Now I'm driving my husband's Tiburon. Can you picture 3 old people struggling to get in and out of a small two door sports car? Mom is 87. We must be a sight at the grocery store.

If you can get 0% from the dealer and want it now, that might be good enough. Otherwise I would wait.

Hmmm...I guess living in California it was easier for me to get a good price. I called every dealer within a 100 mile radius of me and got my Silver Prius 3 no sunroof for $26,100.50 OTD.

Course...I didn't get any cool packages but I think due to the amount of dealers I could go to really helped to drive down the price...

I assume those prices are before tax, title, license? For those prices you should be able to get a Prius 4. The difference is synthetic versus real leather. The other option is to find a Prius 3 without the dealer installed add ons. You can have the options added later by an independent shop for much less money.

Going with the 4 or a non-dealer optioned 3 should increase the number of cars available and your negotiating power. It sounds like you may want to expand your search if you want a better price as well. Check out autotrader.com and cars.com and increase your search radius.

I figured SE Region before the confirmation was sent. Toyota does not build a Three with leather so that is going to be aftermarket whether through the dealer or an upholstery shop.

Holman Toyota in NJ has at least 5 BP Threes sitting on the lot. 0070 is also listed as the paint code. Contact their Internet Sales Dept. You should be able to get the car cheaper here as our Region does not add BS fees & other junk. You'll have to shop around to find an upholstery shop & choose the color & grade for your leather. You'll also have to find a shop to install the window tint. Cutting out the dealer cuts out their overhead so you'll either be able to save money or get a better upgrade.

There are a few NJ dealers that are a bit closer to you including: Toyota of Vineland, Toyota of Turnersville, and Shore Toyota.

    Happy hunting.

Spiderman.....I called one of the dealers but was told that the finance dept is not answering. Interesting. They are advertising 0% on eight models but not the Prius.

Chunker......I have also searched the websites of most of the dealers within 100 miles. I see that within their areas they share the same inventory. The offers I got from the first two dealers were for the same car. Maybe I should move back to the west coast!!!

mrstop......Yes the prices are before TTL. You are right. For thoses prices I might as well spend a little more and get a Four with those Softex heated seats. I know I'll use them a lot here in Louisiana. I will check out Autotrader and cars.com. Thanks

JimN......I can't travel too far because of my mother. I did use Carwoo.com. The offers of the 3 dealers that responded were not any better.

I'll keep hunting but so far I'm not happy.
