I have been on a search to find a lumbar support to slide under my Clazzio seat covers. I tried a small foam pad (first pic) that I bought from Pep Boys but it wasn't too good. It turned out to be too small and for some reason felt like it would heat up and get hotter than the rest of the seat.

I was browsing online and saw Walgreen's had some lumbar supports so I decided to see what the local Walgreen's had in stock. The only thing they had were these mesh lumbar supports. I decided to try them out so I bought two ($4 each, super inexpensive). WOW. THESE ARE SO COMFORTABLE!!!! They aren't too stiff or too soft. You can't tell they aren't part of the seat. The pic of the drivers seat is with it installed and the passenger side is not installed.

Next time I drive by I'm going to pick up two more just in case they wear out at some point (I'll store them with my hubcaps which I'll probably never put on until I sell the car). Anyone that is usinng seat cover I suggest tracking these down somewhere, you won't be sorry.

i was considering the mesh lumbar support too, when i saw it at a walgreens. I passed on it because I considered that the "support" of the thing was essentially a metal frame, who's only points of contact to the seat are at the metal top/bottom..This being the case, I would only assume that after a while, this would start digging into the seats, possibly pilling or causing damage.

    +1 on the mesh support.

I too found it to provide the best support for my back (I think backs and prevention of back pain can be very idiosyncratic ... what works for some or most may not work for all).

Thanks for finding and letting everyone know that this mesh support can be bought at Walgreens for only $4 !!!

Can't beat $4 -- I paid over $15 at eBags: Travelon Cool Mesh Back Support System > Auto Travel Accessories > Travel Accessories - eBags

Here's a pic of it on my Gen II:

And actually it's $10 for 3 if you want that many.

It is now $5.99 each or 2 for $10. Still a good deal.

I tried it and hated it. Just didn't work for me and was really uncomfortable.

I take it that the US Prius don't have the electric lumbar adjustment?

My '06 doesn't have any lumbar support, I use a memory foam cushion like the first picture, every time I get in I adjust it and actually, the stretching around to get it in position is a limbering exercise, that's what I keep telling myself.
But I'm very comfortable for hours at a stretch.

I think it's with the power seats on the Four.

We cheapos prefer the $10 aftermarket options. ;)

I believe II's and III's don't, but IV's and V's do... I think it's part of the factory Leather Package.

I spent a few more dollars and bought a Prius Four, foolish me, could have save a few grand, and went to Walgreen's instead!
Seriously, the lower Lumbar Support, which is motorized is very nice, and pushes quite a lot on the lower back.

The center console lid in rstarks pics looks like a padded version, anyone know the details on this?

I've been using the support you have for the past year. I found that after a few hundred miles of sitting the frame ended up taking the shape of the seatback. It's not that it bends or digs into the seat....it's more that the elastic straps just give up and allows the support frame to mirror the seat shape.....loosing its umph! I do like the frame so I simply put a small self inflatable lumbar support BEHIND the frame at the base. I like it because it keeps the air lumbar insert in place and it gives me the full support feel I got when I first installed the mesh frame. Worth a shot if you find the frame alone losing its push. Good luck!

I am still looking, the one I put on was too much and the replacement now molds too much into the seat. Any ideas on trying to solve this problem??????

It's apparently available as an option. I drove a Gen IV that had it. My III does not.

A rolled-up small towel works for me.

Doesn't the strap to the mesh lumbar support interfere with the side airbag? If I don't strap it, it moves everytime I sit down.

Not in stock at my local Walgreens, but I found this on amazon for $1.72 ($0.02/oz<-according to amazon) shipping is $6.49. Anyone find a price <$8.21 anywhere else?
