No gas/gas stations closed in NY... trouble brewing..

    Even number plate- I pulled right in to the pump at a 20 pump Gulf station this morning- no wait. The PIP took $15 worth (at $4.15/gal).
    Love the PIP- never waited on a gas line through this whole fiasco..

    I drove to Port Chester, NY, right at the border of Connecticut last Sunday. Took about 50 minutes from where I live in Queens. Only had to wait 15 mins in line there. Still at half of a tank now, and hearing stories of it getting better out on LI, but my neighborhood in Queens still only has 1 gas station open out of the 4 in the area. The areas I drove at for work this week on LI are the harder hit areas on the south shore, so there's obviously still problems down there. There's only like 30% of the stations open still in NYC.

    I drove by 5 stations this morning on Middle Country Rd on the way to get my snow tires mounted on the new rims- only one station was open out of the five- but it had probably 20 pumps- so you could get gas there without waiting- or maybe only one or two cars in front of you. The odd/even plate rationing system works well- when they finally decide to use it :mad:

    I went to a local station in Queens because I did not want to use gas going there. It worked well. I did not use a drop of gas waiting and moving up the line while listening to music for an hour.

    Perhaps the only saving grace during this fiasco is the 550 + mile range on a a full gas tank. Fo me that is 10-15 days of normal driving.
