Actually, you can split it with the two inputs at the same time, but there are trade-offs. A splitter can reduce the volume of each device if both are connected or introduce electrical noise if one is unconnected.

I would recommend if you do this, make sure the splitter has two "stereo" inputs and get a ground loop isolator. You will need this for the XM units like the SkiFi which have a well documented electrical noise.

BTW, this is exactly my set up in my '05 no CD changer, no cassette, no NAV Prius.

    Good luck

I had the NEO aux-in installed in my 2006 non-JBL prius and it works fine. I also replaced the speakers with Infinity Kappa 62.7i and added a 4-channel amp. ...much better.

Anyone have any further developments with this? I just got an iPod and I'd love to hook it up. I have the 2005 system with the 6 disc changer and Nav system. I was interested in the Prius Chat one, but it says it doesn't work with the Nav system. What I liked about it was having full controll on your screen and steering wheel. In the mean time I just have one of those cassette adapters.

Does anyone know the real dirt on connecting your iPod up to the 2006 aux input? Do you get reasonable controll on your screen and steering wheel? Has anyone had a chance to play yet? If not I may have to hit up a radio shack for the right plug and then go for a "test drive."

It sounds great but it's only an audio pass-through. The only control applicable onscreen or on the steering wheel is the volume. A small disadvantage on my part is that you pretty much have to close the iPod in the console compartment where you can't control it. I suppose you can run the audio cable out to the cup holder but you'll crimp the cable.
