To the Zaino users out there -- if I use the Zaino protect (Z2 for example on my Silver) I shouldn't have to do any waxing (in the traditional sense, Carnauba) on top of the Zaino? The Zaino IS my protection in lieu of traditional wax. I know Zaino has products to spray on the car in between washings to maintain the coat, but that's different.

    Hey everyone,
Well, finally got around to detailing the new car. Appreciate everyone's help. Here's what I wound up using. Got it all from Autogeek. Spend a good couple of hundred, but it'll last me at least the year and then some - cheaper than car washes of "equivalent" detailing. I pretty much went with Optimum's line of products, whose reviews were equal to Zano products, with fewer steps in application.
    Grit Guards
Wookie's Fist Wash Mitt -- not cheap, this was a splurge. But super soft. Wife looked at me like I'm crazy.
    Optimum Car Wash
    Pinnacle Clay Bar
    Waffle Weave Drying towels
    Stoner's Invisible Glass
Optimum Opti-Seal - super easy sealant to apply with a foam applicator, can go on paint and trims
Optimum Spray on Wax - again, super easy to apply. Spray and wipe off. No dealing with wax residue, Can go on paint & trims
California Mini Duster for inside car -- it's red in color and left red lint on the velvety areas by dash, will need to remove
Optimum Leather Cleaner Spray - worked great on Softex
CarPro Perl for tires -- bought small one to test, kinda pricey
Optimum Detailer - to use in the future for cleaning up any bird poo between washes
    Mother's Tire Brush Set

This is an awesome thread, all of this is still new to me. I bought a used 2011 prius and notice a whole bunch of swirls in the clear coat. How would I remove or hide it? Clay and then wax it? or clay, seal then wax to hide it?

you have to "correct" the swirls with 1 or more steps of polishing typically by machine. so your initial investment is quite big for a machine and the different polishes and compounds depending how bad it is. might be easier, less costly and way less time consuming if you take it to a reputable detailer to have them remove the swirls then you do your best to keep it swirl free from that point on. there are many forums with information if you want to do the work yourself with reviews on machines, polishes, and compounds. it can be done by hand but it is not as effective and obviously much more time consuming.
