I want to attach a proclip and run the cable through the vent and around the dash. Does anyone know if the left vent will POP out if pulled or pried correctly?

I think if you take down the lower section of the dash, you can get to the vent from the inside.

Ths is out of a 2010 Prius manual but I'm sure it's the same:

    1. Remove the front door scuff plate LH.
    2. Remove the cowl side trim sub assembly LH.
    3. Remove the lower instrument panel finish panel assembly.
    § Remove the screw.

Disengage the 6 claws and clip as shown in the illustration.

Disengage the claw and 2 guides and disconnect the hood lock control cable.

§ Disconnect each connector and clamp, and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel assembly.
    4. Remove the No. 1 instrument panel register.
§ Pull the No. 1 instrument panel register in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 2 claws.

I have to try tomorrow but it looks like I might be able to pop it out without removing the lower section.
