Replacing H11 with 30-SMD LED H11 bulbs

    Our day time running lights are low-beam H11 bulbs operating at 80%, am I correct.
    The H11 bulbs are 60W @ 80% so 48W x2 = 96Wats for both lights.

    If I was to replace them with 30-SMD LED H11 bulbs 4W each
    H8/H11 compatible LED bulb for car 4 watt,30 pcs 5050 SMD, 12V [H11H8-30SMD-5050-12V-PW] - $11.20 : LED light bulbs, LED lights for home cars boats
    so running at 80% they will consume 6.4W/pair
    This would make a big difference, standing on an intersection with the head lights ON and engine OFF.

    There are some CREE bulbs that claim ~600+ lumens that might be worth looking at. The less draw the better, but I don't think there would be a big difference.

    That's right, you all have DRLs. Not sure how the LEDs are going to work in that situation.

    Where are the Canadian DRLs? Does your distributor do them or is it dealer installed.

    It is a compulsory setup for Canadian market. All Canadian cars must have DRL's.

    By the way I just replaced DRL with one of those Cree 20w LED 600LM and they work.
    But if somebody is after the effect (more light) they will be disappointed.

    I know the Canadian requirements call for DRLs, just asking if they use the US fog location or are separate.

    I'm really probing if there is a Canadian kit used with instructions for the distributor/dealer as I've used a distributor's kit for other items on a US car for dealer install.

    They use headlight "high beam" running at 80% as DRL.

    European Prius+ has LED DRLs. DRLs are not mandatory but practically every recently introduced/facelifted car has them, at least here in Finland.

    They seem to be in the same housing with the turning signals. (The round lights in the picture are fog lights.)

    I believe they are factory-installed. No idea if they are available as a kit.
