Perhaps it was Jay Leno who said, the happiest and sadest day in my life was the day my In Law drove my Prius off a cliff by mistake. Not sure who I missed more.

We purchased our Prius in May 2009, now we have 88,000 miles on it. My wife had to replace the
key fob battery about 3 months ago, $5.00 for the battery installed at our Toyota dealer. Mine is still OK, but she drives the Prius 90% of the time.

I agree, last eight years and two cars, ZERO maintance! other than regular maintance, oil changes and the like. :)

My first Toyota lasted 21 years, I see no reason this should be different.

Well done! If you do all the maintance and keep on top of it, they will last a long time. I have had many vans that had 450,00 miles or more. Enjoy Your wagon, Nice Ride! :D

the 2003 prius i sold recently required only an accelerator pedal replacement. the water pump had to be changed, but that's at 106k miles. doesn't sound like a whole ton of "repairs" to me.

JUst wondering...do you know if that's ACTUAL temperatures..or w/ the windchill. I know here in upstate NY, there are some nights when it DOES get to -30/-40 or more w/ the windchill sometimes. I keep my PIP in my unheated garage, and that does keep it out of the wind, but it still gets pretty cold.
    Thanks,
    GG

G.G. windchill has no effect on objects, just people and other living things. So it means -40 (ignore the windchill value).
