I've only had my 2012 Prius Plug In for a month, and haven't yet decided whether to renew XM at the end of of my 3 month trial. But since they are already calling and offering deals, I'd like to know how far to push if I do decide to say "yes." What's the best deal you've gotten from them? On their first call, they first offered $86 for 5 months, then $24.95 for 3 months, and finally $14.95 for 3 months (actually $14.95 for one month, with two more months free after that).

A la carte is 8 bucks per month. I think people are calling and possibly negotiating better deals. On another post someone said the 90 days past and they still had full access for 6 months before they shut it off.

With the short-term deals more attractive than the long-term deal, makes you wonder why anyone would want to make a long-term committment.

What is the best way to approach them? Call and negociate. Wait for it to expire and take advantage of the mailed offers? Some other approach. I like XM. They have on line at the web site a la carte service for $8 per month + tax + Royalty. Thinking of that, but if I can get Select which I believe is $15 per month at about $10 I'm a buyer. Thoughts on how best to dela with Sirus XM.

The best way that most on here have found is to call their Cancellation Department. This department seems to be the one that has the authority to negotiate and deal. Let them know that it is not worth the full price rate but could be at a lower rate.

Also, the calls that I have made to other than the Cancellation Department go overseas. The Cancellation Department seems to be here in the US so you talk to someone that you can fully understand.

I decided to give SiriusXM a try for a year after the trial period. I signed up at full price :( , and then got an offer for about $101 per year the next day. It took them 2 months to refund difference after repeated calls to the "Customer Care" center where ever that is.
Probably won't renew with them again, very difficult to deal with them, and I don't trust them with my VISA card number.

I used to get $77 per year (plus ~$12 royalty fee) when I dealt directly with their cancellation department and repeatedly threatened to cancel. I never trust them and never gave them my credit card information. They can bill me for a year and I write them a check, and that was that. This also prevent them charging my card with anything thing I didn't authorized. At the end of my 1 year contract I called in to cancel if they not willing to give me the same deal. With other smartphone music apps out there we can use for free like Pandora and such, I don't find myself wanting to pay for XM.

XM is a luxury and not a necessity. There is so many options and much of it free. The talk radio is nice in the morning commute. I listen to the music on the way home. FM wear I live stinks not good selections, and Pandora and Heart radio when I can get it to work eats away at my smartphone data plan (AT&T) which means I pay extra data fees that costs more than XM for me. Sprint which is unlimited data I can't get a a phoen connection in my home (I can with AT&T and Verizon) and Virgin Mobile you can't get the latest iPhones with them. Oh well.

I called after my 3 months and got 1yr for $84.55 total. Although to be honest, I never use it. The quality is very tinny and poor. I regret getting it, especially since Pandora is $36/yr and sounds 100's times better.

I think six months for 25 is the best deal I have seen. I got it in the mail a few months after I let my trial expire.
