Bought the car in March... since then I have driven 18,900 miles. No issues thus far! On some very very poorly paved roads I hear a slight rattle in my driver door panel. Other than that its been smooth sailing.

No problems after 8500 miles. Am putting snow tires on this week because I do not want to have issues this winter.

Lowish mileage in the cold, so I believe an engine block heater might should be in my future.

I turn up the volume and I can't do anything for a few seconds on the screen, which is annoying.

Everything else so far has been steady.

    10.5k miles.

Other than dealer and glass replacement issues, only one thing.

Emergency stop, HARD on the brake, bent the brake support structure, brake lights wouldn't go off. Took about two weeks to diagnose, confirm, get parts, replace parts, and get it back to me.

The stereo sucks, there's a tad bit of wind noise, and the sun visors are almost vestigal. But not actual defects.

I just noticed the wind noise quite recently (i usually have music going when i drive). It sounds as if there is a window not fully rolled up, which I know isn't the issue. Odd. I have no issues with the stock stereo, it's certainly much better than the stock one the poor old Echo had.

I had a nice setup in the CRX. There's no rear and no subs in this one. I've had better, and I miss it.

My Echo was so base-model it didn't even have a clock fer cryin' out loud, so I'm unlikely to ever complain about the goo-gaws in the C.

Except I really hate that electric window feature (not specific to the C, but to all electric windows), that rolls it down all the way if you push the button wrong. It's the one thing I would change if I could. If I want the window all the way down, I'm perfectly capable of holding down the button for three seconds.

You're right. This is my very first brand new car that I worked hard for. I've never had to use a lawyer before either. I'm going to see what they come up with. It's been 4 days now since they've had it.

Curious to see what the problem is. I have 4300 miles and the only issue is a very annoying little rattle. It sounds like its coming from dash on passenger side or passenger side door. It's very annoying and I see I am not the only one with this issue.

When I took mine in for the 5,000 mile maintenance, I mentioned the rattling. One of the main ones came from under the glove box. They installed some extra padding. It helped, but there are still rattles. It's what I expect with all that hard plastic, but I'm glad to be rid of some of it.

I have no issues at all with my C, I do however miss my heated mirrors that I had on the new beetle I traded in on this. I had seat heaters installed shortly after purchase and they have been a blessing here in Minnesota the last couple of weeks. It has been perfect in our snow with stock radial tires.

Am I the only one having blue tooth issues? Wont hook the iphones. Then, I take it in and it works. Makes no sense at all. Lost all of my phone contacts and have not figured out how to put them back in. But, that is not an issue when the phone wont hook to the car blue tooth.

5,800 miles on mine, and it's been great so far. Going through snow, dirt roads, filling it with dogs, etc. If you drive with the windows partway down (for the dogs) over about 30mph, you get a weird resonance with the air pressure, but other than that, and some bad blind spots that all new cars seem to have, I don't have any complaints. Averaging just over 47mpg overall -- largely mountain roads, and if it's in traffic on the flatlands, 60's are easy. First new car I've owned, and compared to a lot of new rental cars I've driven.... it's great. I much prefer a manual transmission, but the CVT is way better than most autos, especially the slushy US ones -- most auto cars can drive me nuts in less than an hour of driving, whereas I've been driving this for 4 months without going nuts.

Overall, this is a great car. I've had my C since July and have about 6600km on it. I've seen no mechanical problems yet, however, as someone who often has to answer questions about this car (who else is experiencing the "ambassador to Prius" effect? :) ), I'm beginning to accumulate a list of (minor!) nitpicks and drawbacks about the Prius C, so here they are:

Road and wind noise: One of the only borderline-major disappointments of this car is the amount of road and wind noise it makes at higher speeds. This is surprising given how big of a deal Toyota made about sound dampening and insulation in the early technical presentations during the release of the car. Beyond 50-60km/h, this car is a wind and road amplifier. For those of you who claim not to notice it, a good benchmark to experience this effect is driving 120km/h (75mph) and trying to have a relaxed conversation with someone sitting in the back of the car.

Lack of power: Each and every one of us here knows exactly what we were getting into when we bought a Prius, but the drawback remains -- the car does not have a lot of power at speed and so certain freeway maneuvers can be rather harrowing at times. I find the launch power in city driving, especially at traffic lights, to be excellent due to electric torque, but there's a distinct lack of torque-on-demand at highway or freeway speeds without the car sounding like its approaching its limits. I wish Toyota was able to address this with a PWR mode, or perhaps turbo (hey, VW is doing it with their hybrid).

Stability at high speeds: On a three hour run on the freeways outside of the city during moderate winds I found that the C gets tossed around by wind turbulence quite a bit, especially when interacting with tractor trailers, underpasses, etc. The stabilizers only help so much when the car is so light.

Artificial limits on EV-only mode: Outside of EV mode, I can easily bring the car to speed and travel quite a distance without triggering the ICE, so I don't see why EV mode has to be so restrictive. I find it useless even for driving down to my parking level in my building, since it bounces you out of EV mode at such a low speed (and yet you can stay in electric mode the entire time regardless of its complains). In addition, the EV and ECO buttons are in the worst location imaginable.

Bluetooth pairing is sketchy: My wife's iPhone has a lot of difficulty pairing with the bluetooth audio system in this car. Sometimes it takes several tries, sometimes it never works. Like one of the other posters here, I found it very irritating that it would autoplay my audio every time the BT audio was activated no matter what, so I had to unpair the device.

Gas price widget is like a frightened animal that never lets you get close: The little widget that shows up after you gas the car up disappears before I can ever use it. I've actually never managed to set the gas price after filling up because of this!

Other than these nits I have to say the car has been very good.

    Welcome to Priuschat! :)

I just simply do not get this problem - and people have posted a review article that actually did the sound measurements which back this up. People in the car have commented to me that it's noticably quiet at 110 km/h.

EDIT: Earlier thread on this was here: Toyota Prius C Performance Numbers | PriusChat

I do experience this to a degree, but I accept it. I don't see it as "an issue" - when I want to overtake something I can do so easily. It's disappointing because you have to go against the grain of everything the car is trying to get you to do in the name of fuel economy and absolutely, the c is nothing like the 2003 Corolla hatch I traded in which was both lighter and more powerful.

My iPhone was great until I upgraded it to iOS 6. Now it's unreliable for audio. If I ensure the iPod app has some playlist loaded prior to starting up the car it will be fine, but this irritating.

I don't have issues with the other things you mention.
