No not getting towed lol. And yeah you will never see numbers like that on the highway. Well not without news choppers tracking you because of the traffic your causing.

its worse now. . . at 30F I get 60mpg. that said that seems to be more or less the bottom. have not had a TURLY cold day yet so maybe not.

For the past week or so, my morning commute has been at 33-39 degrees. Still managing to pull 50+ MPGs, but not even getting as high as 60 in the mornings. When it "warms" up to 40 or 45, I can get better numbers. Cannot wait for Spring to arrive!

Have you ever tracked another car's mpg the way you are tracking the mpg for your c? I doubt it! So it's just conjecture on your part.

    You would doubt incorrectly.

I have detailed FE logs on the past 10 cars I've owned. My Fuelly membership only accounts for my 4 recent cars.

So then you should be able to review this info and report back! It would be very interesting to compare the various vehicles and see the percentage decline in mpg in the colder months. ;)

Does this look familiar from fuelly.com ... Cetane

    46 1/31/12 539.3 12.78 42.2 3.999
    45 1/16/12 490.9 12.45 39.4 3.799
    29 7/22/11 581.4 12.98 44.8 3.999
    28 7/4/11 555.1 10.54 52.7 3.859

    Quick Calcs:

    42.2 + 39.4 = 81.6/2 = 40.8
    44.8 + 52.7 = 97.5/2 = 48.8

    48.8/40.8 = 19.6% Difference

Good job biasing the data by being selective instead of looking at representative tanks or averaged data sets. The one fuel-up you picked is an outlier from a hypermiling experiment.

Also, rather creepy to see you're going out of your way to stalk me.

Where are we on that first ASSumption you made:

It doesn't appear I'm conjecturing whatsoever since you're mis-using my data.

Whoa, Rye, chillax. If you don't want people to look at your data, don't put it on a public website. Stalking is serious business, and this...is not that.

I just wanted to prove the point that if you make an blanket statement,

and you have the data to back up your statement, but refuse to prove it out

that I would make a quick calculation to prove you wrong. Yes, I realize that the calculations are indeed flawed, but it did get the result I wanted it to ... your screwed up response! Stalking, I don't think so!

I guess you're trying to be defensive by being offensive!!! ;)

Longest...sentence...ever :p. Thanks for the input everyone! Also, try to get along, there is no reason to have heated tempers on this website, particularly when one is making an opinionated (or factual) statement. If you want to disprove that person, do the research and show us. We could all benefit from more data, not insults.

Like down town Chicago? I am in the area 6 days a week and voleteer at the shedd (that's an aquarium for you non Chicago ppl) the last one of the week. I always hypermile and don't seem to have any major problems. Sure maybe the odd horn honked and the occasional bird flipped but that only happens if your not paying attenchen to hypermiling.

Cuse when your focused you don't notice, and if you don't know it, it never happened lol. :)

Dude it was the same route to the point of which side of a lane I was in. The same distance with less than a 10th of a mile diffrentes. Travel time was the same, true it shows one minet diffrentes but that was partly because of my phone fumble.

The only real thing that was diffrent was the temp. I dont see how that could be the same over a whole tank of gas unless you drive around the block all day/night for 5-6 hundred miles.

But it's cool though and a larger sample would be better.
