Does anyone know if the NAV system can be set up to avoid a particular stretch of road or something like that?

I know some systems will let you avoid "high conjestion" areas (like NYC) or particular road segments (like the Cross-Bronx Expressway). Can you do that with our NAV?

I haven't figured out now NAV selects the Quick2 route, either. Sometimes it seems to offer a pretty long route as an alternative...

    Thanks,
    Jim

On my '05 I know it's possible to set up to 10 "areas to avoid". I believe it can be accessed through Menu->My Places (or something similar). Basically you set an address or point on the map and then select a square size around it to avoid (1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, etc.). It's not perfect, but helps me keep the Nav system from taking me on back roads I don't like to travel.

As for how it determines routes, I have no idea :D I usually select Quick1, drive by highway as much as I can, and let it auto-reroute as I get closer to my destination.

    Hope that helps.
