I heard they can interfere with the auto-up function....anyone have experience with these?

I have them on my "06
I hate them, the rear ones fell out the first time I opened the windows,
and the rear windows rattle around in the expanded channels.
The front windows never close when it's cold out, or not until the third try...and rattle around in the expanded channels.
The exterior stick on are far superior IMHO

Contemplated this mod for a while. Decided against it. Between the cost, install, and the little it does, I'd much rather turn on my fan if my windows get fogged up.

I would never get these again on any car I own. They scratch the window when they roll up if there is debris on the window. I tried cleaning them all the time and taking them out. In the end I just threw them away. If you really want window deflectors I would choose the stick on ones.

These sound like the visor that are installed in-between the window and the frame. I've always read problems with these designs for any car. I like the oem (JDM) visors for the Prius that are installed on the exterior.

My question is...I've seen sole brands that make something similar to the jdm version...I'm wondering if there is any difference in design...the price between jdm vs other brand is definitely different.

JDM version is stick on....if that's the type you want, save your money and buy the HIC USA on ebay for $29 + 19 shipping

We put them on our '07 right away. Three years later, I've never had a problem with them.

Yes, at first they would "bounce" the auto-up feature, but that stopped after they "seated" themselves better.

No scratches, no problems, and no falling out. I think installation is the big thing. Gotta read the instructions.

I have have them on my 2010 and I love them, and they look clean.

    Also what Rae Vynn said

No scratches, no problems, and no falling out.

I also put 3m tape on the back ones.

Is there any difference between HIC USA and the oem ones?

I wanted the weathertech ones back when I bought my car 6 months ago but there were unavailable. I have the HIC USA stick on ones and they're great. A few buddies have weathertechs on their car and those are also really nice so you can't really go wrong with either.

cool, thanks for the input....let me ask you this....the weathertech seem to look a little smaller and more streamlined compare to the the HIC USA....or am I wrong? thanks for your help!

^^ Weathertechs are more low profile. The front ones also go all the way down the front of the window where as the HID USA ones only cover the top of the window. Overall, it depends on the look you want. I really like the weathertech look when they don't have the front visor part on the front doors.

sorry to bring this old thread back, but do the JDM/OEM window visors have clips on them? Just got the HIC USA ones and they are only held on by tape.

I have always purchased OEM ones.. I had them on my TL, Civic, GS300.. and they all had clips.. worried that the tape won't hold..

i have a 2012 prius five and just installed a set of weathertech window visors. these are great. the visors and clips go on the rubber of the windows. just gotta make sure that you install the clips for the back windows. otherwise, there is a good chance that they will fall out once you roll the rear windows down. as far as the stick-on ones, i don't know.... they just look cheap to me!!! i've seen them on a prius and they just don't look as good as the weathertech ones. also, after intalling the visors, you have to leave the windows up/shut for a minimum of 12 hours in order for the visor to adjust and conform to the glass. after this, you shouldn't have any problem with the window's auto up/down feature.

I also have WeatherTech on my 2012. I do love them...but its all about installation! Front just snap on no problem..two seconds and done...But the back needs a little finesse. You need to install the clips without doing damage to the rubber molding. Take your time and read the instructions. I also watch "You Tube" videos on installing the back ones. And again, as said above; you will have to let the back windows stay up for 12 hours for them to reset themselves to the auto up/down feature. All in all I love the clean lines of them and would recommend them.......just saying

I just installed mine on my 2012, the look great and as stated above i will leave them up for a few days (don't roll down in winter anyways) and will report how the auto up feature is functioning.

I used to have OEM Volvo ones on a heavily modified Volvo 740 years ago and they were tinted stick on ones with no clips, lasted forever!
