    Hell on Earth.

    Senseless, tragic, unthinkable.

And the second such attack this week, the first at an Oregon mall nearby.

As the District Attorney said at the sentencing of the killer of my innocent Grandparents during a home invasion robbery, there is no closure, no healing. The living will carry this for the rest of their (our) lives.

I hope they find solace in their faith. It's the only thing that's helped my family.

    God help them.

If someone wants to donate to help in this cause, this is what I learned from our local NBC station today. Don't want to whack a bees' nest and stir up any further thoughts/emotions but this is what we have on the TV news in CT - here are some local places where folks can help those affected by this awful occurrence if they are so inclined. Just my humble two cents.

"Newtown Youth and Family Services is located at 15 Berkshire Road, Sandy Hook, CT 06482. For more details on how to donate, call (203) 426-8103.

Another group accepting donations is the Newtown Parent Connection, which accepts donations right on its website, www.newtownparentconnection.org. Donations can be made via Paypal or any major credit card, and the organization says all donations will be donated directly to those affected by the shooting. For further details, call (203) 270-1600.

The United Way of Western Connecticut is also accepting donations in a partnership with Newtown Savings Bank. Check donations may be mailed to: Sandy Hook School Support Fund, c/o Newtown Savings Bank, 39 Main St., Newtown CT 06470, or you can drop off a donation at any Newtown Savings Bank branch location. You can also donate by credit card directly online here: https://newtown/uwwesternct.org"

My prayers and thoughts go out to the families who have lost loved ones in this tragic event.
PRAY that the Good Lord or your Higher Power will look over them, protect them, and help guide them through this very difficult time.

Sincere apologies extended my friend. Alas without those who fight "Fire with Fire" on this forum only one (extreme) view point would have been present in this thread and most likely it would remain. As you well know, I did not start the politicization of this tragedy but I accomplished a goal that I am certain the majority here approves, i.e. an extreme viewpoint was answered, the opposite view was given voice and/or the posts taken down. I've tried flagging posts, as I'm sure others have, only to be ignored. I have no regrets.

    Peace

p.s. My apologies to Paradox, thanks for taking the posts down and moderating this thread.

    ^ Apology accepted.

What little I know about anyone grieving is be careful what to say and be supportive.

The posts outside condolences and help are particularly volatile within a day of the event.

I agree the silver lining is the member that 1st put political flamebait (not you) had his posts removed with the others.

I was under a deadline so, my post was harsher than it might otherwise have been, sorry about that.

And I agree with you we should be free to post condolences as we see fit on this thread and appreciative to Paradox for his support on that point.

You can probably catch it on CSPAN re-runs, the Newtown vigil. An interfaith service, well worth watching.

My gut feeling is the boys (really don't feel like calling them men) doing this kind of mass murder at schools are screaming for attention well beyond the internet troller. Can't think of a practical way of hushing events like this one, but suspect fewer would do it.

Anyway, someone called a local church where many of the parishioners were parents of the victims claiming to be a friend of Adam Lanza, and "finish the job" by killing them all.

I earnestly hope the Feds identify and convict him - has a lot of time to think about the attention he lusted after ended up biting him in the butt.
