Nemo snow job ... any Prius power reports?

Wow! This is what we got in Garden City/Hempstead, which can't be more than 30 or 40 miles west of you. Photo taken 10am Saturday; about 12" of snow.



My C is in the garage, but my wife's Mazda5 won't fit until I get some more junk out of the other side...

 

Looks like a blizzard

 

we got somewhere between 25-30". light and fluffy, fortunately. took my daughter and i about 4 hours to clean up. she manned the shovel and i the snowblower. came in, took 3 advil, a hot shower, and i'm resting comfortably on a heating pad.

 

I know the feeling! My driveway is 110 feet from the street to the garage, 10' wide at the street end and 18' at the garage end. Then there's the paved area where my wife's car is parked. I have a 24" snow thrower, but there's still some shoveling involved.

 

I moved from Long Island to Southern California over 2 decades ago. I miss NY but not the snow storms and bitter cold winters.

 

Over 2.5 feet here... plow came to mound the snow in piles in the yard... trudging through requires full snow gear. Luckily it is February... March we should start warming up and the gardens should be coming alive...

 

Hopefully that is the end of snow for the season.

Of all the jobs to deliver Nemo had to deliver a snow job.

 

Prius stuck in garage.3 foot snow drifts too big for my snowblower,made a little spot for my old suby Outback.No power since fri.,like most of Cape Cod,SE Mass.,but live alone and been at work most of the time.Got to get serious about some sort of inverter project.Have studied all the threads,just got to do it.

 

Inclement weather and power outages are very real and dangerous. Best to make a plan to be Better prepared. A gas powered generator and space heater is a Good start.

And to add to the pile of headaches, power went out for four hours... it's back on now and my two big horses got into a kicking match and my older girl "Calypso" did not fare well... watching, treating the injury and hopefully a vet visit is not required... last time this happened she needed surgery and meds...

 

Keeping positive thoughts that all is well with your horses and things are not as bad as they appear.

They are probably used to cold.

Time lapse was cool. Taught me to not shovel snow into the snowing stops.
