In testing the wiring according a toyota pdf I found for this code, The harness fails the 3rd step or continuity from one end of the harness to the other. I can only get continuity on 2 of the 6 wires. These are the wires for the HV sensor and they are shielded says this pdf. I've peeled the tape and plastic wire covers back on the trans end, and indeed the 6 wires for this plug separate into 3, I assume twisted pairs. What is a proper fix/best fix for this harness? Where is it most likely broken? Thanks

The car is a 2004 with about 75000 miles on it.

I assume you mean DTC P0A4B.

"Shielded" typically means that a grounded wire braid surrounds a signal-carrying cable, not twisted-pair.

If you cannot find obvious damage to the wiring harness connector at the transaxle end or the wiring harness itself, then one possibility would be to run three shielded cables to replace the open cabling.

Did you test the wires one at a time? I would do that next.

Just an update to close the thread. The diagnosis PDF I found in relation to this code, had a slight error in that the wires from the EV sensor were not where the pdf said they were in the ECU end of the plug. Once I found the fight holes to probe, the wires tested fine. Car is back on the road waiting to see what happens with its trans. It has no codes ATM.
